Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Byler.

Victoria Byler

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Revive Counseling LLC was in the making before the dream sparked, I believe, before I even became a licensed therapist. The passion for somatic therapy was a key to opening the doors of my healing. Throughout my life, I coped with life traumas, grief, and hurdles through swimming, running, writing poetry, drawing, photography, and tapping. Although I did not know the science of these outlets at the time, they truly allowed me to stay grounded in the whirlwind of adversities. As a young adult, I began to identify my strengths as a natural educator and caregiver and a desire to empower others. During graduate school, I spent my days outside of the classroom working at a local nursing home. This opportunity allowed me to truly begin to see my purpose and passion in helping others. I worked hard and wanted my residents to know their worth, and not be seen as a burden. I provided support and companionship during their most isolated and sorrowful moments. It was a privilege to share in their journey.

After graduating from Youngstown State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2016), I had opportunities to work in various settings (community mental health and private practice) and with a range of ages. I found an interest in serving adults healing from grief, anxiety, trauma, and depression. I had a hunger for ongoing education to further support my clients. This led me to pursue certifications in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), expressive arts, grief, and Reiki (level 2 certified).

I founded Revive Counseling, a name that embodies my mission of healing and growth but also invites clients to feel they can have their life back, a life worth living with fulfillment, worthiness, and self-love. Through collaboration and hard work, we can create inner peace; you will learn skills that provide you with the prosperity to live the life you desire.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, adversities have existed; however, my desire and passion for my work have assisted in overcoming the obstacles that I have faced. I firmly believe with my skill set of being resourceful and adaptable, most obstacles can be overcome.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Although my services are virtual, I love that I can serve a wide geographic area, Ohio is the focus of my attention. Having recently made Cleveland my home, I am relishing the exploration of its unique offerings, with a special emphasis on its diverse culinary delights. The warmth, kindness, and generosity of the people here have been a delightful and unexpected part of my journey.
