Daily Inspiration: Meet Ryan Peterman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Peterman.

Hi Ryan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today. 
Top Dog Uniform & Equipment was started in 2021 to fulfill a need within the community to provide uniforms to public safety personnel. 

Top Dog Uniform was named after my retired Police Work K9, K9 RIF, I have always felt that no matter what service you’re in, people should look and feel like they are the TOP DOG. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It certainly has not been a smooth road. The struggles that have been challenging are competing with online retailers and trying to stay competitive with them. What I have found is they certainly have the online buying power and can provide much lower prices than what I offer. However, they lack overall customer service and care. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have over 15 years myself in public safety, including law enforcement, fire & EMS. I can for sure say that I have the experience to share with my customers my knowledge of the various products that I sell. 

One of the things that I’m most proud of is providing that personalized service to the customer. When meeting with a new customer, no matter their need, they know they are getting personalized attention from me. 

I have found that providing to the customer and directly focusing on them creates a business/customer relationship that you cannot put a value on. 

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the industry will continue to utilize online retail, but what I have found in my area, specifically within the Holmes County and surrounding areas, is that customers still want the go-to location and to be able to shop locally.
