Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Boseman.
Hi Dennis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started tattooing in high school and opened my first tattoo shop in 2006, but couldn’t manage the throws of ownership at the time. After realigning my priorities, I was able to start Nobility Tattoo in Austintown, Ohio. I wanted to create a staple environment of high-quality tattooing for my friends and connecting with our community. I also wanted a family business that my children, Dennis and Brooklyn, could one day be apart of.
While growing Nobility Tattoo, Christine and I created Tattoo Therapy™, a research-based treatment modality for trauma for those struggling with mental health issues that can be treated with tattooing. Our mission is to create a space for health insurance companies to see tattooing as an evidenced-based mental health treatment backed by quality research, so it can be offered by providers. Our goal is so that even those disenfranchised can benefit from the healing aspects and mental health benefits of tattooing.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Some of the struggles along the way have been related to personal life, mental health, financial loss, family issues, and the changing times of the tattoo industry.
We’ve been impressed with Nobility Tattoo, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Nobility Tattoo and Tattoo Therapy™ offers a unique environment where clients can access both mental health and tattooing services or a combination of both. Within Nobility Tattoo, I am most recognized for my neotraditional and illustrative style and focus on realism. I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the most recognized tattooers in the world, including DJ Tambe, Dave Tevenal, and Bowery Stan Moskowitz. The communication and connection I have with my clients are a great source of pride for me. I believe that tattooing can create a powerful positive impact on the community, and I am honored to offer this service. I want people to know that Nobility Tattoo and Tattoo Therapy™ are a safe place to experience tattooing, fine art, and healing through mental health services, as well as body art.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
First, I feel that clients and the team, Christine Toporcer and Seth Clark, are the most important aspect of Nobility Tattoo. Secondly, I’d say my family, focus, and discipline are most important to my personal success.
