Life & Work with Amante Hall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amante Hall.

Hi Amante, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m from Painesville, Ohio. The youngest of four boys.

So, I’ve learned to be a good observer. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a professional drummer.

I got my morels from the church Holly Grounds I grew up in. That gave me the foundation to flourish and want more for myself. During this period, I had seen a lot regarding my siblings good and bad. So, my mom put me in a lot of clubs. Leadership, theater, Band, and church youth group.

My high school years were extremely difficult for me. Graduating felt like climbing Mount Everest. My mother was a warrior in making sure I was ready for the next chapter of my life. I thank her and God.

I went to college in Lakeland, Florida. At Southern University, I studied Youth Ministry and Communication. During that period, I audition for a Tv show on campus called Raw Tv. Thinking back on Hosting Raw tv planted seeds for maybe one day getting into entertainment and Media. I was 1000% Focused on helping the next generation of young people. I didn’t see anything but helping the youth. I believe hosting would help me get comfortable speaking. The people I met and the opportunities that came from hosting were amazing. Being a full-time student and working full-time was a default mix. I had to leave school because of financial difficulties.

Leaving College opened another door. Working at Catalyst. Catalyst was a huge leadership conference at the time. I moved to Atlanta and started an internship at Catalyst. We would travel the country hosting events for numerous leaders. Events as Big as 250,000 people. I was interning and serving in the youth group at a local church called Free chapel. Being a young man and failing is tough. A year in a half after I was let go. It was a mutual parting ways. At the time, I was upset and disappointed, but it was the right thing. All socks don’t fit every foot.

A year later, I moved back to Ohio. It was difficult because I felt like I failed. I know they say failure is a good thing, but it still hurts. It builds character. It took me three years to talk about my experiences publicly. During this time, I work with a couple of camps as a lead or director.

Having conversations with parents and staff on different topics was the key that open the idea. For years people have been telling me I’m a gold mine when it comes to conversation and wisdom. They would say things like you should write a book. You should start a podcast. You could be the next Arsenio Hall or Montel Williams. I chalked it up to people being kind at the time.

One day I was in the car driving, and I turned on the radio and heard some hosts giving their opinions. I didn’t like it. I thought to myself I could have that same conversation. I recorded myself on the iPhone voices memo. I sent it to a couple of friends. They approved, and I began to plan to build a podcast. I came up with a name, TrueTone during the pandemic. The show is about interviewing people who are interested in all walks of life. A podcast for The People. True to culture. True to the story. True Tone.

I got all the equipment within a year. I got busy with life and wasn’t working on it. Around October or September of 2022, my uncle suddenly passed. It hit me hard. I couldn’t help but think about the past conversation we had. It Inspired me to launch the True Tone Podcasts at the beginning of 2023.

I’ve been going strong Ever Since.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, The struggles maketh the man. I’m thankful for the struggle and obstacles because they made me strong, wise, and persistent. Strong because I learned that I could handle it. Wise because I can explain it. Persistent because I never give up.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I Host a Podcast called True Tone, am a soon-to-be author, and am a communicator.

I specialize in opening people up when they’re around me. I’m not sure where I get it from, but it’s fun to get to know people.

I’m known for being funny and having great stories to tell.

I believe I am known for being an inspiration. I’m proud of my ability to keep moving forward and my perspective. I’m thankful for that.

The thing that sets me apart is my creativity, imagination, attention to detail, and natural curiosity.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was passionate and aggressive in the pursuit of fun. I was told by my elders that I always had wise one-liners. I love being around family and friends.

I was interested in a lot of areas like the NBA, NFL, music, and concept cars.
