Hidden Gems: Meet Stephanie Dickerson of Shots By Steph

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Dickerson. 

Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I chose to start my photography business because I have always loved taking good-quality pictures of people so that they could have good memories to look back on. I also feel that when looking at a nice photo of yourself it builds confidence as well. I always thought of doing photography on a more serious note but I never was as eager to start the process until I became a mom and started doing mini photoshoots of my daughter she gave me the motivation to start my business and I have loved it. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I has been a rocky road getting started since I am originally from Alabama, I don’t know too many people here in Ohio so it has been a bit of a challenge getting my name out there and building a clientele. There were times that I wanted to give up but I always kept pushing forward and it has been very rewarding. 

We’ve been impressed with Shots By Steph LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Shots By Steph LLC is a black-owned photography business. I shoot any and all people (women, men, children, pets, and families). My specialty is delivering quality photos that boosts one’s confidence and gives them memories that last a lifetime. I am most proud of the fact that I am not happy until my client is satisfied, meaning that once they receive their edits, I am open to constructive criticism and I am willing to fix or redo whatever they would like for me to change. I would like readers to know that I am willing to try all types of photography meaning that there is no shoot that I am afraid to do. 

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is that my clients are comfortable during their shoot and that they are happy with the end results.
