Rising Stars: Meet Jennica Saddler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennica Saddler.

Hi Jennica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
After over ten years of working as a social worker, I wanted to make a change that challenged my creative mind in a different way & still have a positive impact on others.

Self-confidence is a superpower, and I knew that I wanted a part in helping people feel beautiful.

Cosmetic tattooing isn’t about changing someone, but magnifying the beauty that already exists! I have been a cosmetic tattoo artist for almost two years now and feel honored to have met and served hundreds of women. I am so excited about the years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth, no. Scenic? Maybe. The art of cosmetic tattoos is mastered through hands-on experience, so as a beginner it was so easy to feel discouraged. Learning takes continued dedication & endless practice. I always tell myself the same things when I feel like the underdog. Learn from your mistakes. Invest in yourself. Keep showing up.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a cosmetic tattoo artist and operate out of a studio in Ashtabula, Ohio.

There I offer powder/ombré eyebrows, eyeliner & the latest trend- permanent jewelry. I specialize in very soft, natural results. I pride myself on meticulous work that my clients leave satisfied with! I wholeheartedly enjoy getting to know my clients, making sure they feel comfortable and at ease in the studio, and helping them to feel like they are in good hands.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice for someone just starting out is to never compare yourself to someone else. Especially on social media. As we know in our personal lives, things can be distorted on social media.

The same applies professionally, and it is beyond easy to feel like you’re not good enough or will never be good enough when looking at others’ work. I stand by this sentiment wholeheartedly: be better than you were yesterday.
