Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Galbreth.
Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started with a collection of angel art and vintage-inspired jewelry, named The Vintage Angel, back in 2010. I’ve always been drawn to all things Victorian and set out to create an inspiring collection of both angel art and jewelry that celebrated a modern twist on that style.
Lots of ornate details, antiqued metals, and a decadent style. Because I offer my work online through my website: www.thevintageangel.com, I’m able to reach customers all over the world and often ship to many other countries.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve never questioned that this is what I should be doing, but I will admit it is hard work juggling the many different roles required to be successful. What I love best is creating and designing, but I’ve also had to learn about accounting, staying really organized with order filling, and always trying new ways of marketing my work. I feel the need to constantly evolve to keep up.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I think I’m most proud of my angel paintings and drawings. I think offering my art prints and paintings along with my jewelry sets me apart from others who make jewelry only. I find that combining the two really works well.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I think luck does play a part in things of course, and for me, that has been lucking out with timing. I got onto Facebook early on and therefore was able to really gather a lot of followers.
My Facebook page, The Vintage Angel, has over 300,000 followers, which is great. Part of that is due to being lucky with my timing and also being lucky in finding some great customers who are very loyal.
Pricing:
