Rising Stars: Meet Ramey Summerlin of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramey Summerlin.

Hi Ramey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Six years ago, I started Ravishing Bath & Body Soap with a passion for creating handmade soaps and body scrubs that encouraged people to take a little time for themselves. What started as a small passion quickly grew into something much bigger.

As my business evolved, so did my services. I expanded into waxing, massages, and other self-care services, creating a space where people can step away from the stress of everyday life and simply relax.

Today, Ravishing Bath & Body Soap is more than just a business to me—it’s a self-care experience. My goal has always been to create a welcoming, comfortable environment where you can come in, let your hair down, relax, and leave feeling refreshed, confident, and cared for.

What started with soap and scrubs six years ago has grown into a place dedicated to helping people look good, feel good, and make time for themselves.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been growing the business while learning how to manage everything that comes with being a business owner. I had to learn how to balance creating products, taking care of clients, marketing, scheduling, and all the behind-the-scenes responsibilities.

There were also times when building a loyal customer base and getting people to believe in my vision was challenging. I’ve experienced slow seasons and setbacks, but I learned not to let those moments stop me. Instead, I used them as opportunities to learn, grow, and figure out what I could do differently.

Through it all, I’ve continued to push forward because I truly believe in what Ravishing Bath & Body Soap represents. Every challenge has helped me become a stronger business owner and has reminded me why I started, to create a space where people can relax, practice self-care, and feel good about themselves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in creating self-care experiences that help my clients feel confident, relaxed, and comfortable in their skin. I’m best known for my handmade soaps and body scrubs, which are designed with skin care in mind, helping to hydrate, brighten, smooth, and improve the appearance of dark marks and uneven skin.

Today, I’m especially known for my Brazilian waxes. Over the years, I’ve mastered a technique that goes beyond simply removing hair. I focus on proper skin care before, during, and after the waxing process to help make the experience as comfortable as possible while leaving the skin feeling smooth and cared for

What I’m most proud of is how my business has evolved while staying true to its original purpose: self-care. I believe what sets me apart is that I don’t just provide a service, I care about the overall experience and the health and appearance of my clients’ skin. My goal is for every person who walks through my door to feel comfortable, confident, and truly taken care of.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I definitely would not be where I am today without the support of my children, my family, and my niece, Amondia. My children have always been a major source of motivation for me. They remind me why I keep pushing forward, even when things get challenging.

My niece Amondia deserves a special mention because she has been with me from the very beginning. She has supported the business, grown alongside me, and is now an employee. Having someone who believed in my vision from the start and continues to be part of the journey means so much to me.

My clients also deserve a tremendous amount of credit. Their support, referrals, repeat business, and trust have allowed Ravishing Bath & Body Soap to grow over the years. This business truly has been built with the support of the people around me, and I’m grateful for every person who has played a part in the journey.
