Today we’d like to introduce you to Young Scratt.
Hi Young , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music started as a way for me to speak on real life, the pressure, the pain, the wins, fatherhood, loyalty, and everything that helped shape me. I knew early that I wanted to do more than just make songs. I wanted to build something that could create opportunities for myself and other talented artists around me.
That vision became Dreams 2 Reality Entertainment. I went from recording music and promoting myself independently to becoming a CEO, developing artists, building a team, planning releases, creating visuals, and forming real relationships throughout the industry. Every setback taught me something about the business and made me move smarter.
Today, I’m still growing as Young Scratt, but the mission is bigger than me now. I’m focused on releasing quality music, expanding my brand, helping my team win, and showing people that you can turn pressure into purpose. My journey is built on three things: vision, hustle, and execution. I’m not chasing a quick moment. I’m building something that will last and proving that dreams really can become reality.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not always been smooth. One of my biggest challenges has been keeping everyone on the team united while managing different personalities, emotions, and ambitions. In music, jealousy and misunderstandings can happen when one person feels like somebody else is receiving more attention or opportunities.
As the CEO, I have learned that leadership is not just about making moves. It is also about communicating clearly, setting boundaries, resolving conflicts, and reminding everyone that another person’s success does not take away from their own. I work hard to make sure each artist feels seen and valued while keeping the bigger vision in front of us.
Building a real team takes patience, loyalty, and accountability. It has challenged me, but it has also made me a stronger leader. My goal is to create a culture where we celebrate each other, push each other forward, and understand that when one of us wins, the whole team wins.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My creativity also goes beyond music. I appeared in the major motion picture Judas and the Black Messiah, as well as the local film Life Lessons by Johnny Lump. I have also secured numerous music placements in films, allowing my sound to become part of stories on screen. Being able to express myself through music and film has helped me grow into a well rounded entertainer.
I’m known for more than being an artist. I understand the business side of entertainment, from developing artists and planning releases to creating visuals, building relationships, and leading a team. What sets me apart is that I can think like an artist, perform like an entertainer, and move like a CEO.
I’m most proud of building Dreams 2 Reality Entertainment from a vision into a real movement. Everything I do represents our motto: Vision, Hustle, and Execution. I’m not creating for one quick moment. I’m building a name, a company, and a legacy that can open doors for the next generation coming out of Cleveland.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
One of the biggest risks I have taken was believing in three artists and committing myself to building each of them from the ground up. I invested my time, money, energy, connections, and reputation into helping them develop their music, image, confidence, and business mindset.
Taking that risk meant believing in their potential before everybody else could see it. There were no guarantees that the investment would pay off, but I saw something in each artist that was worth developing. As a CEO, I understand that sometimes you have to bet on the vision before the results show up.
My view on risk is simple: it should never be reckless, but you cannot be afraid to step out on faith. Every major opportunity requires you to sacrifice something, whether that is time, comfort, money, or security. Building these artists has taught me patience, accountability, and the importance of choosing people who are willing to work just as hard as you believe in them.
I am proud that I was willing to take a chance on talent that others may have overlooked. To me, real leadership is not only about reaching the top yourself. It is about creating a path for other people to rise with you.
