Meet Chacon Carter Jefferson of Chacon’s Sweet Treats and Good Eats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chacon Carter Jefferson.

Hi Chacon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my business in 2016 out of my home. I began with baked goods cakes cookies and pies. I use to sell my items in Wisconsin as a hobby that’s where I’m from. My taste testers were my co workers and they became my customers. When I moved to Ohio in 2010 stopped baking. I was new here and didn’t really know anyone. One day we had a potluck at work and I took my rum cake and everyone loved it and my supervisor asked why am I not selling these cakes. After she asked me that I decided to look into making baking a legal business

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part things have been smooth. During covid it was a little hard with people not being able to leave home we had to pivot a little and deliver to customers something we were not doing at first. Once we started this it helped us to stay open and bring customers their sweet treats.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Chacon’s Sweet Treats and Good Eats?
Our business has grown we not only provide sweet treats we provide good eats. Our soul food cuisine is made from our heart and soul. We love baking and cooking and you can taste it in every bite from our fried chicken catfish baked Mac n cheese to our greens yams and pound cakes you’ll taste nothing but love..

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I would say luck has played a roll in my business in a good way. We gain a lot of our business from word of mouth. Friends and family telling them about us and I feel lucky blessed even to have people refer my business with out the customers there is no Chacon’s Sweet Treats and Good Eats!
