Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauryn Lipscomb.
Hi Lauryn , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story has really been about learning to trust my own perspective.
I’ve always been drawn to fashion, beauty, storytelling and beautiful details, but when I first started creating content, I was still figuring out what I wanted my voice to be. I started by sharing aesthetic videos, fashion, beauty, and little glimpses of my everyday life. Over time, that grew into a community that I’m incredibly grateful for and a platform that became much more than I originally imagined.
There was also a period where I found myself trying to keep up with what everyone else was doing creatively. I think that’s a very easy trap to fall into as a creator, you see what’s working and start wondering if you should become a version of that.
Eventually, I realized that the more I tried to fit into what was already happening, the further I got from what made creating exciting to me in the first place.
That realization really changed the direction of my brand.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m still figuring it out, but I think that’s the beauty of it. My brand is allowed to grow because I’m allowed to grow. I don’t want ‘I AM LO’ to be a perfectly curated version of me that never changes. I want it to document the woman I’m becoming, the things I’m learning, the things I love, the things I’m letting go of, and all the little beautiful moments in between.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But the detours have taught me a lot about trusting my own voice, and I think that has ultimately made the work much more meaningful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
‘I AM LO’ is a lifestyle brand built around my perspective on fashion, beauty, femininity, creativity and everyday life.
I create content across fashion, beauty, travel, home, coffee, and lifestyle, but I’ve never wanted to be defined by one category. What connects everything is the way I tell the story. I’m interested in the details, the outfit before dinner, flowers on the table, a coffee ritual in the morning, getting ready for a trip, finding the perfect pair of shoes or turning an ordinary day into something that feels a little more special.
I think I’m known for creating content that feels polished and intentional without feeling overly produced. There’s a nostalgic, almost editorial quality to what I create, but I always want there to be a sense of humor and real life underneath it.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I think people might be surprised by how sentimental I am. I’m really nostalgic and tend to attach memories to everything, whether it’s a song, a perfume, an outfit, a place, or even a random little moment.
I think that’s probably why I love storytelling so much. I don’t just want to show what something looked like. I want to capture how it felt.
I’m also a lot more goofy and unserious than people probably expect from my content. I love beautiful things and romanticizing life, but I definitely don’t take myself too seriously.
