Today we’d like to introduce you to Ples Jones.
Hi Ples, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in music for over two decades now — DJ, producer, and independent record label owner. It started with a genuine love for the craft, learning to read a room, build a set, and eventually helping other artists bring their own music to life through production and my label.
Along the way, I saw something that never sat right with me: so much talent walking away from the industry, not because they lacked skill, but because nobody taught them how to survive the pressure that comes with it. Burnout, identity loss, boundary issues, these are the things that quietly end careers, and almost nobody talks about them.
That’s what led me to build Artist Immunity Blueprint. I added performance coaching to what I already knew about the industry, because I realized the missing piece for most artists isn’t talent or opportunity, it’s the internal infrastructure to sustain a career long enough to actually build one. Today, I work with independent music artists to help them protect their identity, regulate their nervous system under pressure, and build careers that are meant to last, not just survive one big moment.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been smooth, and honestly, I don’t think anyone’s is. Building a DJ and production career meant years of learning the hard way, figuring out how to navigate contracts, protect my work, and build real relationships in an industry that doesn’t hand out trust easily.
I’ve been taken advantage of myself. At one point I lost over $10,000 to marketers who turned out to be running a scam. That kind of loss doesn’t just hurt financially, it makes you question your own judgment, and it’s exactly the kind of experience that can quietly break an artist’s confidence if they don’t have the tools to process it and keep moving.
The bigger struggle came later, watching other artists around me who had real talent just disappear. Burnout. Loss of identity. Giving away their power to labels, algorithms, or their own doubt until there was nothing left to create from. That was harder to watch than anything I went through myself, and it’s part of why I built AIB.
Even building AIB itself hasn’t been easy. I’m doing this on my own, mostly through cold outreach and real conversations, one relationship at a time, because I don’t believe in shortcuts that skip the human part of this work. It’s slower, but it’s real, and real is what lasts.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Artist Immunity Blueprint (AIB) is a coaching framework built specifically for music artists, designed to protect the parts of a career that most programs never touch. We focus on nervous system regulation, boundary systems, artist identity, esteem and authority, and self-actualization, the internal infrastructure that determines whether an artist can actually sustain a career long-term.
What sets AIB apart is that it’s built from lived experience, not theory. I’ve spent over two decades as a DJ, producer, and independent record label owner, and I’ve seen firsthand what burns artists out and what actually helps them recover and keep creating. This isn’t generic wellness coaching, it’s specifically shaped around the pressures of the music industry.
What I’m most proud of is that the framework has been tested with A/B-list major-label recording artists through an industry finance connection, and it’s held up at that level, but my focus now is bringing that same support directly to independent artists who need it just as much, if not more.
What I want readers to know is simple: talent isn’t usually the reason an artist’s career ends early. It’s burnout, identity loss, and a lack of internal support systems. AIB exists to change that.
How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t a number, it’s not streams, followers, or even revenue. Success is an artist still being able to create, freely and honestly, years into their career instead of walking away burned out or lost.
If an artist I’ve worked with can look back and say they protected their peace, kept their identity intact, and built something that actually reflects who they are, that’s success. Watching that rapper I mentioned earlier get back to making music after two years of silence, that’s success to me, more than any milestone I could hit personally.
On a personal level, success is knowing that the pain I went through, the losses, the scams, the years of learning the hard way, actually turned into something that protects other artists from going through the same thing. If AIB helps even one artist stay in this industry instead of leaving it, I’ve already succeeded.
