Daily Inspiration: Meet Anthony Church

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Church.

Hi Anthony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began making music in 2016 producing for my friend Jay and then later started working with other artists from around the globe. In early 2020 I began to self-release my own instrumental work and have since released over 10 projects while continuing to produce full bodies of work for artists as well.

I primarily operate in the genres of Hip-Hop, R&B and Lo-Fi to create my own unique style.

In the same year I also began my music interview series called The Proven Knowledge Podcast, designed to shed light on the journey individuals embark on when they step out on their own creative endeavors. The show has reached supporters from all areas of the world with over 300 episodes down and counting.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Most definitely it has not been smooth. There’s a consistent number of struggles involved with being a creative however it was much harder to overcome them in the early years compared to now.

I feel that having already been through so much rejection, self-doubt and other obstacles, it has made me understand that those moments are temporary. The real success comes from continuing on and still showing up even in those tough moments. So that’s really what I aim to do day in, and day out is keep showing up.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a music producer, and I make instrumentals that artists can rap or sing over while also releasing the beats all by themselves from time to time.

My specialty I’d say is my ability to craft music that draws an emotional feeling. No matter if it’s sad, warm, reflective or anything in between, my goal is to make the listener feel something real.

I think what sets me apart is my consistent approach to both the music but also to how I’m promoting it. I also think I’ve become good at showing my personality a lot more and trying to infuse that into everything I do to some degree.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Just stick with it even when it seems like everything sucks and you’re not seeing many results. The only way to see real progress is to keep going and it can take many years to even see a small number of wins. Know what you’re getting yourself into and make sure you always love what you’re doing. If you lose the love and passion for it then there’s no point in continuing to pursue it.
