Today we’d like to introduce you to Brody Coyote.
Hi Brody, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hey, I’m Brody! I hope you’re doing well.
I go by Brody Coyote and I make music. My grandpa was a country music artist and that was his nickname for me. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. I’m 33 years old as of July 5th, 2026. I’m a dad of the most amazing and talented and creative daughter in the world, I am 4 months into a new home with my girlfriend and hopefully future wife, Stephanie. She’s absolutely incredible. She inspires me to be a better person DAILY and my daughter loves her and looks up to her big time. I truly believe God sent her to me and us to each other.
I have made music ever since I was a teenager, writing raps over YouTube beats with my childhood friend, David. I went to SCPA (School for Creative and Performing Arts) back when it was on 1310 Sycamore St. in OTR in Cincinnati and learned creative writing from one of the best teachers ever, Dr. Joy Fowler.
Since then, I have been teaching myself to make music as well as learning from college for audio production and from my mentor, Damian Lemar Hudson. I have so many songs I was sitting on to stay on top of sharpening myself to be the best me for my family but nowadays I realize I was sleeping on my own potential to eliminate the financial worry that many families and parents experience. I know my music can pay our bills in the future and get us to our dreams and I won’t stop fighting for us, ever.
As my daughter grows older, I have had to really look myself in the mirror and take accountability for my immaturities and flaws and instead of getting upset or depressed or angry and pointing a finger somewhere else, I have been taking responsibility for it all and pointing a finger in the mirror. I got into a ton of trouble as a child and teenager from acting out but I’ve learned recently just exactly WHY I was acting out.
I was late-diagnosed with ADHD at 27 and then level 1 ASD at 33 is what I found shortly after (no diagnosis but DR agrees). Recently I actually got blood work done and found out I had been deficient on Iron for YEARS and it was probably since childhood as Autistic children are 8x more likely to suffer from iron deficiencies. My parents did the best they could and they love deeply and it’s been tough to not get resentful but the older my daughter grows, the more that I see just how difficult this all is. I love my parents, flaws and all.
After the blood test results came back, I worked with my doctor and started supplementing iron and working on healing. It’s been one hell of a challenge but I finally have answers and now am able to recenter my focus on music and family. I believe my music will pay our bills and buy my mom a home and pay off debts and all that and more. I want to use my music to show my daughter that even when all hope seems lost that by simply believing in yourself and never stopping the work on your dreams and being a good person, you can do ANYTHING. I want my music to help others get through hard times and find their confidence and bring grace to them. Life’s too hard and too short and EVERYBODY deserves a shot at a better life.
For work, I work a full-time job while also working on music, my brand, and being the best dad I can be. I take things one day at a time. And, recently the gift of a dog from my mother has been the key to me understanding myself. My dog just turned 3 and she’s so awesome and has really helped bring our family together, along with Stephanie’s neverending love.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all. In fact, I would say it’s been one of the bumpiest, curvy, and intense roads I’ve ever traveled. But, it’s the only one I know or want to continue on. Music was just the start of it all. I wanted to be a rapper. I was young and loved music and writing. Now, at 33, I look back and see the climb I’ve made throughout this Voyage and it’s given me every reason to quit, time and time again. I didn’t. I learned early on that the difference between those that don’t accomplish their dreams and those that do is simple – the people who do never gave up. Ever. So, I choose to do the same. DAILY. It’s ALWAYS a choice.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make music as Brody Coyote. I’m most recently very happy about my song releases this year: “U Don’t Know A Thing”, “Run & Hide”, and my feature on Dre Eazy’s track, “Egg Beater”. I’m also very proud of a new video series called, “The Legend Of The Coyote Princess: The Quest For The Redlegs” I’ve been posting on my socials in vertical video form. The premise is that I have to find all 24 Mr. Redlegs statues in Cincinnati, OH and its surrounding towns and deliver them each a specific vinyl record to help them not feel so alone at night. It’s been very fun so far and I’m still starting out. The goal of it is to promote local businesses, encourage people to get outside and explore more, and to bring good music to people’s ears to help them in their Voyages as well.
How do you think about luck?
Bad luck has been the biggest playing role in my life and business. I thought for years all these difficult challenges and tough hands was the universe’s way of telling me it’s just not in my favor. However, with a recent reframing and growth, I’ve discovered that my “bad luck” was simply tests and challenges from the universe to shape me for the future I was and am currently manifesting. That “bad luck” was, is, and can always be “good luck” if we persevere and dig deep to find the light. The light is always there but many of us need a lot of time to search and find it and we simply cannot give up along the way.
