Check Out Joe Clark’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Clark.

Joe, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Always having loved people and finding myself interested in their stories and what ties it all together, I started a podcast called “Chats with Clark” during January 2021, the second semester of my senior year of college. Initially, the podcast started very locally, before expanding via Zoom. While the conversations were great and fruitful, the quality on Zoom was not adequate for creating clips and really developing the podcast as desired.

After a peaks-and-valleys, rollercoaster type of journey, “Chats with Clark” is solely in-person, fully produced to be at the highest quality, both in aesthetic and in conversation.

The goal has always been to discuss the mindsets of guests and to dive deeper into the “why” behind what they do. These mindsets and approaches to life are what connect us all.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I love every moment of the “Chats with Clark” journey, because the journey itself is the gift. It’s the conversations with profound individuals that has inspired me since day one.

As with any business, there are challenges: scheduling, the constant cycle of recording and releasing, finances of the business, and all typical facets of any endeavor.

On the other side of each of these struggles has been growth and, ultimately, reaching new heights for the podcast. There is so much truth in the notion of “pain” leading to growth!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
There are so many podcasts in the world. What makes “Chats with Clark” special is two-fold. First, the guests are all unique and are tied together by the thread of an immersion into their mindsets and questions/topics that are “deep” and can be applied to the audience across the board.

Secondly, I am blessed to host the podcast; thus, I remain true to myself throughout the process.

With that, though, there is always plenty to learn from the experts. I love listening to podcasts for the entertainment piece, but even more so to study the craft. Forever will I be a learner of the game and the etiquette.

“Chats with Clark” is far more than strictly a question-and-answer approach. It’s the reporter approach that breaches various areas of the conversation and connects them back to tell the encompassing story.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
People want to support other good people. So many guests, after their episode, have referred other people to me who would also be great guests. This circle of excellent individuals grows because of that truth: good people want to support other good people.

More, as far as a connection is concerned, everyone is just a few people away. Once connections become personal through a mutual person, the rest falls into place.

The podcast has reaffirmed the belief that the world is interconnected and full of wonderful individuals, who also tend to band together.
