Community Highlights: Meet Amber Teacher of Shiri Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Teacher.

Hi Amber, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey! My name is Amber Teacher, and I am the Co-Owner and Lead Creative Designer of Shiri Events LLC. I am a Wife and Mother of 5 beautiful children. I am an avid lover of all things floral, balloons, and tablescapes. For over 10 years, I have been a part of the hospitality and bereavement committees at my church which allowed me to create small intimate events, which I absolutely love to do. I have always been in awe of beautiful events, and I knew that was something that I wanted to do as a career.

In 2020, God opened doors and Shiri Events was created and is a dream come true. I never imagined that I would ACTUALLY have my own business and now I do. Shiri Events started with my very good Friend and Sister in Christ, Iris Washington. We have been blessed in these 2 years of business, fostering many new relationships with clients and different vendors and we know only greater is coming. Next up, opening our first venue.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say, sometimes things have been smooth and others not so much. Every business has its ups and downs, which is inevitable. When we first started, it was trying to figure out how to present SE to the world, and I can say that sometimes it can still be a challenge with so many other planners/designers out there.

In today’s society, it’s hard to not compare your business to the ones you see on social media. We just remind ourselves that our business is unique to us and that there is room for us all to prosper. We always learn something new in this business, things like what could help or hinder your business from growing and scaling. Our goal is to always improve to offer our clients and future clients the best service and experience possible.

Shiri Events LLC is a Full-Service Event Coordination, Planning, Design and Decor company located in Columbus. At Shiri Events, we create heartfelt and unique custom-tailored event and design experiences for hosts of intimate celebrations, small businesses, and corporate clients.”

When clients book with us, we strive to leave a lasting impression by creating an experience from start to finish that is unique to our client’s vision. As we work with our clients, we immerse ourselves into their vision, the design process, and every minute detail so they do have to. We take what they have pictured in their minds and bring it to life; you know, make it tangible. We have a firm belief that every client deserves their vision to be a dream come true and that is what we do.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
For me, I don’t believe in luck. I believe every person on earth has been created for a purpose, it’s just a matter of finding that purpose and moving/living in it. I believe my purpose in life is to be a servant not just to my client but a servant of God and that is what I am fulfilling every time I work with my clients.

It brings me great joy when I see my clients’ smiling faces or tears of joy when they see what SE was able to create for them. Being of service to them, that is what fulfills me and It’s the driving force behind Shiri Events, moving in the purpose of being a servant.
