Today we’d like to introduce you to Cintia Baez.
Hi Cintia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up I was always very creative and had a lot of creativity and art skills! But my passion for cakes began one day before My son’s 3rd birthday. The reason, is very simple I had ordered a cake from a grocery store and when I went to pick it up it looked nothing like what I had ordered! I then decided to try to make my son a Cake for his big day! And when I did it came out pretty good for my first time.
that my focus just stayed on making cakes for my kid’s parties and family! Every single time I made a cake I got better and better. They looked amazing. So In 2013, I decided to get my cake business registered as an LLC! Which I named Cake My Day! As soon as my name was registered. Word got out and I was getting orders left and right! As the months went by I came across a handful of clients that had referred me and made me the official Cake lady.
From there I would always come out of the box with different treats and desserts! Making Cake My Day a statement in Columbus.. 9 Years later I stand here with an Amazing rep behind my name and a large clientele that keeps getting bigger and bigger by the day! I do weddings birthdays baby showers or any and every special occasion you can think of! My work travels from state to state. Just because I love my job. Making cakes is more than my job but my passion and hobby! I love cakes
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning and running a business has its ups and downs. Sleepless nights, crazy overwhelming mornings. Rushed weekends. While being a mother, and wife and taking care of my household. While working an 8-hour job Monday thru Friday! But at the end of the day, it’s all worth it in my eyes!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in birthday cakes and treats like cake pops! I do weddings anniversaries and other occasions. I’m known for my savory and very different treats as well. The thing I’m most proud of is how many people I’ve made happy with a simple cake. I enjoy smiling faces.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is being happy doing what you like the most. I enjoy my role and my skills. Love baking and creating. And to me creating amazing cake art is my success.
