Exploring Life & Business with Veronika Rosinskij of F|S Magazine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronika Rosinskij. 

Hi Veronika, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Back in 2012/2013, I had an idea of making my own little business but hadn’t any clue what I want to do. Then I came up with the idea to do something with my hobby, which is watching films and series. At the end, I thought about bringing out a magazine about films and series, so the name F|S magazine was born. 

Over the years, my project changed from time to time, and now the focus is mostly on Austrian movies and series where I write about reviews and somewhat like an “obituary” for famous people from all around the world. 

Since 2018 I am working at a Call Center, and in October 2021, I became a mother. So, my project had to step aside a little. But I am still somehow on track with it and try to keep up with it. For a short time, I had a friend along my side who wrote some reviews too, but now he has a new project of himself. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If I remember it correctly, it was never that hard so far. From time to time, I was more focused on my project. But since I have a personal life too, my F|S magazine comes a little short, unfortunately. 

Social media becomes more and more of an impact in our world that I had to change small things about my first idea of bringing out an actual printed magazine. All in all, it works quite ok so far. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about F|S Magazine?
F|S Magazine stands for film and series. Because I live and work in Vienna, Austria (a beautiful country in Europe) the magazine specializes on Austrian movies and series. I saw a gap in the market there because in Austria, we don’t have any magazines or online platforms that has only that topic. So, I picked that up and specialized on that. Because my friend didn’t know any Austrian movie or series he wrote about English films. On Instagram, I post mostly about famous people who past away. That is our other “specialty.” 

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I have to admit that so far, I didn’t have any risks yet. And if there will be one coming it would be about putting money into my project. I always have in mind if F|S Magazine doesn’t work out in the future, I would have spent the money for nothing… 

So far, I am on the safe side and haven’t spent much money to let my little magazine grow into something nice with some followers.
