Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Cargill.
Hi Tina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Tina; first and foremost, I am a mom of three and a wife to my husband Kasey. I’ve always dreamed of having a family and truly feel so lucky for my family of five. Our life is crazy & busy, but we love every minute of it. When my second child was born, I decided to start blogging for a creative outlet while on maternity leave. I love sharing fashion, home decor, makeup, and lifestyle ideas. I am also OBSESSED with photos, so I love having my blog to house all of my favorite captures. Fast forward to today; I’ve been blogging for just over five years. I just recently started a new adventure & another way to spread my love for photography. I started my own party rental company. We have modern-style photo booths, a champagne cart, and my husband and I are restoring a 1960’s camper into a retro-themed photo booth that will be ready in just a few weeks. I’m so excited for this new adventure!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I feel extremely lucky for where we are today, but it hasn’t always been the easiest. When my last baby was born, I found myself with a major back injury. I had three children to take care of and was completely bedridden and in horrible pain. Six weeks postpartum, I had back surgery and, thankfully, have been much better since then. It really put things into perspective for me. I feel grateful every day to be able to walk and take care of my children. When I find myself annoyed or “put out” by everyday tasks, I try and find gratitude because there was a time those tasks were not so easily doable, and I longed to be able to do them.
As far as the blogging world, it can be really defeating. Comparison is a thief of joy and almost inevitable as a content creator. Once 2020 hit, I took a hard look into what I was doing and dramatically stepped back/distanced myself. I basically just took the pressure off and went back to the roots of creating what brings me joy. I don’t focus on “numbers” anymore or curating the perfect feed. I come on and share tidbits of life and always remain authentic to my beliefs and who I am!
We’ve been impressed with Retro Party Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is Retro Party Co. We are a party rental company specializing in photo booths. We offer a variety of open-air photo booths and what I’m most excited about is our retro camper photo booth. We also rent our an adorable champagne cart for bridal showers, baby showers, and birthday parties. I’ve always loved making events feel extra special, so I’m excited to offer these to people planning parties. I’m really proud of myself for taking the leap and starting something new. It’s a risk to start a business any time, and I’m just so excited about the future opportunities and getting to know the small communities and small businesses around me. So, if you’re local and looking to take your event to the next level make sure you reach out to Retro Party Co.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I’d love to work with anyone planning an event. We’ll bring the photo booth and promise your guests will have a blast capturing candid moments all night long! I’m also all about small local events. Whether you’re hosting a farmers’ market, flea market, or wedding show, I’d love to bring the photo booth camper. As a content creator, I also love attending local pop-ups and small business events.
