Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Cannon. Them and their team share their story with us below:
The Cannons started their business journey about a decade ago a year into their marriage. After taking a class while they were both students at Kent State University to learn how to properly use their cameras, they launched a few family mini sessions and started shadowing other photographers. They were both full-time music teaching and after a decade of teaching decided to both go full-time in their photography business. This was not an easy decision because they both loved their teaching jobs as well but needed time to pour into the thriving business and continue to serve their clients well.
The Cannons are a husband-and-wife wedding photography team and educators who capture timeless, vibrant, and authentic images for kindhearted and joyful couples.
Beyond being wedding photographers we now also educate other photographers and host a conference for kindhearted wedding photographers.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We never imaged we would both go full time, but we were teaching full time, had two little ones, and our business was running at full capacity. We were working late into the night and early mornings and never had time to slow down. We were so thankful that we took a leap of faith and decided to focus on family and the business so it could continue to grow.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are known for not only vibrate and classic images but for our client experience. We truly love our couples and have a strong desire to serve them and their families well throughout the entire wedding process. We care, we serve with grace, and we are here to provide our couples with a stress-free and joyful day.
We feel so strongly about the importance of a strong client experience that we are now the hosts of a wedding photographer conference called The Graceful Gathering. We are currently planning the third round of this incredible conference for kindhearted wedding photographers. It has been such a blessing to be able to serve not only our couples but to also become educators for fellow photographers and make an impact on their lives as well.
What do you think about luck?
We have been incredibly blessed and worked very hard for the accomplishments that we now have. We continue to work hard to grow and are so thankful for the opportunities that come our way.
We were very thankful that since our business was not our main income for many years, it allowed us to quickly invest back into new equipment, education, and opportunities to help us grow.
