Hi Shunnie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Finding myself pregnant at 20 years old, I wanted to find a way that I could stay home with my son that was due in September. I began my journey as a Virtual Assistant with the skills I built in the executive field and took a huge leap of faith. Being adopted at a very young age into a home that was traditional, stepping out into the entrepreneur field was very eye-opening and uncomfortable for me. That uncomfortability is what created The Virtual Boss. I began to take on positions that challenged me and started learning skillsets that were beyond my expertise (website design, social media management & graphic design) and built my business to have now served over 30 small businesses and executives all around the world — I have serviced United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada and hoping to serve many more! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, not at all. The virtual assistant and remote fields have shifted since I started. When I began five years ago, it was a small competition NOW everyone is interested in becoming a VA. If you are not set outside of the expertise of others you can quickly be looked over even if your skillsets are there. Another huge obstacle is facing the fact that some clients are not forever; losing a client can create a huge shift in your budget and can affect your family.

I am steadfast in self-care and self-awareness. I am a person that truly does care about the next person, and that is why I started my business. I care about each one of my clients, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I found myself becoming an empath after the struggles I faced in life, and my goal has always been the next person.
