Today we’d like to introduce you to Sumit Bapna.
Sumit, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I initially came to Columbus, Ohio in 2003 to do my Residency (Post-graduate Medical Education) in Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center. I was drawn to facial plastic and reconstructive during this time because of the marriage of art and science. After completing a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in San Francisco. I returned to Columbus with my family in 2010. At that time, I joined a well-respected physician and started creating my own brand. From 2016-2020, the brand continued to grow quickly and landed in its current location in Dublin, Ohio.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Managing and growing a business and taking care of patients at the same time is never an easy task. One of the biggest struggles has been keeping a good work-life balance. Wanting to always be available for my patients yet have dedicated family time was tough in the beginning. I spent time with my kids by coaching their recreational sports while they were young. As the practice was growing, the balance became more difficult, but over the last two years, by limiting my practice to what I love doing the most, valuable time has been given back to me.
