Meet Love Freely, Journee B.L.U, and Honey Monai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Love Freely, Journee B.L.U, and Honey Monai. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Anuvybe is a collective of artistic friends formed in November 2021 

“Love Freely” met Journee B.L.U at a show in early 2018 and was immediately drawn to her eclectic free-flowing style. In August 2019 Love set out to form her first band known as Mixed Feelings. Love scouted local karaoke nights for members where she met Deanna Fisher and through her met her sister Honey Monai Mixed Feelings went on to perform on bills with amazing artist all around the city and even became the featured bgvs on Smith Taylor’s self-titled album. 

Though the harmonic sounds of Mixed Feelings were amazing, Love began to feel unfulfilled. In August 2021 she decided to lay Mixed Feelings to rest and embark on a new journey. 

She reached out to Journee B.L.U to do a separate project and quickly realized that her vibes matched what she ultimately wanted for her band. 

We had a meeting and Anuvybe was born. Journee and Honey were classmates and friends in their youth so the kindred spirits were already there. We’re all different yet share a passion for gratitude and authenticity in which we spread throughout our artistic platforms. 

Since We’ve release our first single Inner-City Gypsy on all platforms. We’ve performed at Station Hope Fest, Grog Shop, Bside, Coda, Oakdale House, and Larchmere PorchFest on June 25th 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This hasn’t always been a smooth ride, as most things in life aren’t. Especially when it’s working towards your dreams, goals, and aspirations. 

We’ve been through a lot of changes over the years as friends, and even more while operating as a vessel. Blessings have always outweighed the unfortunate though. Having each other has allowed us to stay ready, encouraged, dedicated, professional, and most importantly, extend love. 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
AnuVybe is a team of creative artist with a mission to inspire generations through the arts. 

AnuVybe has been known to provide an opportunity of harmony, understanding, and acceptance for all audiences 

We are proud of the growth as a band and as individuals. It has become one of the most beautiful things to experience. 

People feeling understood, heard, & loved by our music is what motivates us daily. 

It is an accomplishment, not to be taken for granted. 

“Anu” is defined as “the divine personification of the sky, supreme god, and ancestor…” 

“Vibe” is defined as “a person’s emotional state or the atmosphere of a place as communicated to and felt by others” 

AnuVybe is simply “a new way to vibe” 

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
“The show must always go on…” no matter how small of an audience, or if we forget the words or notes., be present. Always show up and give it your all. As creatives, you may not always be in the “performance” mindset. 

It’s important to look around and feel the people, enjoy the moment, and understand that’s it is an honor and our duty to “portray the times”, as said by the great Nina Simoné 

We have no idea what’s to come, nor can we control everything, in every way. 

We can control our actions, words, faith, and determination. Because of this, our goal is to collectively create a space of flow over force, and faith over fear.
