Today we’d like to introduce you to Teddy Martin.
Hi Teddy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been dancing since I was 10 years old. I use to dance all the time to the point where I wore the carpet out in my house so my parents had to rip the carpet up. For the past 7 years, I’ve been heavy into writing music and performing. I’ve had the opportunity to perform on NBC4 Columbus, played the famous Viper Room on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, California twice, performed for the halftime show for the Columbus Chaos Women’s Football Team, and I’ve had the opportunity to travel and perform internationally. This year I will be releasing my third album but first-time self-produced.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It unfortunately has not been a smooth ride but very inspiring. Because I’m an independent artist I don’t have the big backing or support but it has caused me to work harder.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a pop/rap artist, hip-hop dancer, and new to producing music. I think one of the most proudest moments would be when I saw my name on the marquee at the Viper Room but also seeing myself on tv for the first time made me realize that I’m capable of anything.
We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking?
I packed my bags and moved to Los Angeles, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I came outside of my comfort zone which helped me grow as a person, and as an artist.
