Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Jackson.
Hi Patrice, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The idea for Savvy Professional started when I was laid off from my job at the same time my grandmother who was also my oldest best friend was ill. I decided to take the time off and dedicate it to spending time caring for her. Since I was home many of my friends would ask me to do favors and handle some small administrative tasks for them. Once I saw the potential for growth and extra income, I created a more professional system for working with clients. Creating that system allowed me to take more time off to hang with my grandmother. After she passed, I did go back to a corporate position but I still kept my virtual assistance clients. Working with them was one of the things that gave me peace through one of the toughest times of my life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh NO! All though I love being a virtual assistant it has been a journey. I have learned so much about myself and the world being an entrepreneur. Owning your own business is not for everyone but if it is your passion or purpose it will be worth it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I really don’t believe luck has much to do with pursuing your passions in life. However, I will say this: I have been given many unexpected opportunities that have changed the trajectory of my business and I’m grateful for each one.
