Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Jeffries.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Before I started out as a hypnotist, I was going through some major turmoil and transitional changes in my life. I was ready to clear out many emotions from the past and to start fresh with a positive outlook, a better mindset, and lots of healthier lifestyle changes. I suffered through severe depression, anxieties, and had developed unhealthy habits to help cope, and although I felt ready to change things up, I had no idea where to start and how to do it. I had taken many of the traditional routes of self-help, and although it may help others, it did absolutely nothing for me.
One day, as a psychology student, I realized how much of who we are and how we perceive life is built in the subconscious, and how much of who we are and what we create are consistent patterns of behavior.
I have a great love, interest, and curiosity for human behavior, and with a deep need to help myself, I looked into others’ options, and that’s where I found hypnosis.
As a kid, I remember stories I heard of how hypnosis was used to help people (mostly with stopping smoking at that day and age), and I wondered if it would be an effective way to not only stop the old smoking habit I had created but also to dig deeper and really create behavioral changes that could lead to a better mindset.
So, I dove into the research and also started looking into audios that I thought would be helpful.
The truth is… this was the only things that really worked for me and I was hooked on knowing more. I decided that instead of being a counselor (which was my main goal at that time), that I wanted to become a hypnotist and help people to dive deep into their subconscious to create the powerful and lasting change I had experienced in the hypnotic state.
Now, I have an active hypnosis practice, and I feel honored that I get the opportunity every day to help people help themselves and a deep and profound way.
I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe in any new pathway, there are challenges people face. Everyone is different, and I realized that each approach needs to be unique, and I am always learning more. With each teacher I have, and everything I learn, I feel I am even better equipped to help people in various ways.
Any business can be a challenge, and there are ups and downs, but luckily the skills I have, I am able to use to help myself to move through each of these obstacles in a greater way. I also have a wonderful community of other hypnotists I can reach out to for help and guidance as well in that I feel very lucky.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m in the business of helping people help themselves, and how I do that is by using hypnosis and other hypnotic techniques that help people to best tap into their inner resources and skills. Think of me like a coach or a guide, or another way to explain this process is this… Speaking metaphorically, of course:
The mind is the driver, and the body is the car. Think of my help as a hypnotist as a built-in GPS or navigational system with a built-in travel advisory. You tell me what you want to accomplish, or where you would like to go, and I get the program running to get you where you want to go, but you are in control If you need to slow down, speed up, hit the brakes, or we need to do some rerouting to get where we need to go, then that’s what we do. You could always do what you’ve been doing to try to get where you are and find your own way, but sometimes it’s easier to ask someone to guide you who knows how to help you find your way.
I LOVE what I do, and have been so blessed to have helped so many amazing people to realize their true potential to do amazing things for themselves. These areas have ranges from habits like stopping smoking, and weight management to helping to rebuild self-esteem, embracing spirituality, moving through traumas, and clearing out consistent worries, and phobias for good.
One of the favorite pictures I received once was of my client who had a true phobia of elevators (always climbed stairs no matter what), who sent me a picture after a session where she got into an elevator and had a beaming smile on her face and a thumbs up because she did it! Last I heard she hasn’t had a problem with it since, and this was there since she was a child.
As a practice, I love to offer lots of different things that can help my clients to be successful. These range from hypnosis audios, programs, group sessions, and private sessions that can take place either in the office or virtually. In fact, through modern technology, I’ve had the ability to work with people in other areas of the world this way.
Hypnosis works at any age and at any stage of life, and in my practice, I’ve worked with age groups of 5 and up. In fact, I’ve enjoy working with children but truly enjoy having taught parents and teachers’ hypnotic approaches on helping their children create positive resources that will only continue to build over time.
My favorite way of working with people is in person. Each session is completely tailored and designed for the individual’s needs where I can truly meet with you where you are, and we can go on a journey from there in their own way to accomplish what they want for themselves.
However, I am also extremely excited and proud of my Mind Over Matters Membership Group. I offer weekly sessions to anyone who wants to join in (of course), and in my membership group, we meet online weekly, on a different session each week, and encourage one another. It a wonderful community, and I’m always excited to see the faces of the people on the call.
What’s next?
My goal in life and in business is to help as many individuals as is possible who are in want and need of help. I think as a community we owe it to one another to use our personal gifts and to help other whenever we can.
In order to continue that pathway, I’m continuing to open up and look for new ways to keep reaching out to others in this way. As of now, my Mind Over Matters Membership community is growing, and I’m working on creating some really great on-demand programs people can use to help themselves, or even help others as well.
