Check Out Brittany Womick’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Womick. 

Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well in 2020 during the pandemic like most people I end up getting laid off my job. I am a single mother of five children including an autistic child which I raise all by myself not mention my life was already in shambles because I am grieving my mother who was near and dear to me who passed away back in 2017 so I knew immediately I had to figure out a plan. I knew that I would not be able to maintain my bills and my children off of unemployment. I decided to dive right in and take that risk at something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time which is be my own boss; so, I opened my own boutique with every drop of money I had on August 5, 2020, named Lashed By Britt Boutique located on the east side of Columbus. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made might I add :-). There I provide services that include eyelash extensions, teeth whitening, teeth gem application, and ear-piercing services. Shortly after I open my boutique, I thought why not incorporate my skincare products to see how people respond to them because I’m huge on always having several streams of revenue. So, I started out with my lemon pop lip balm and it took off. To date, I have 26 items on my skincare line and I started with 1; With that being said I opened its own LLC under its own name Beautiful Skin by Britt on July 26, 2021. I sell all items fresh to order because all my products are 100% natural. Every item is made and packaged with love. All items can be purchased at beautifulskinbybritt.com 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road because being a one-woman team is a lot but my life has always been a lot so it’s not anything that I’m not use to nor anything that I can’t figure out cause that’s just what I do. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As I mentioned previously, I provide eyelash, teeth whitening, teeth gem application, and ear-piercing services at my boutique. Then I have my skincare line Beautiful Skin by Britt which includes 26 items to date. I am proud of my hard work, ambition, and motivation to go out and get whatever I want and to never give up. I think was sets me apart from others is because I feel like customer service is the most important key factor to running a successful business. 

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I definitely took a huge risk because I used every cent, I had to start my business so that was a huge risk with having five kids because I was very nervous about whether I was going to make it through the first year because you just never know but I’m a risk-taker so that’s just what I do. If you never take risk, how will you ever know?
