Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Carter.
Hi Amber, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hey everybody! My name is Amber Carter, and I’m the Principal Broker of Seven Fourteen Realty Inc. Becoming a Principal Broker was not in my 5 to 10-year plan when I started my journey in the real estate industry a little over 8 years ago in the Property Management sector. I have always had a passion for assisting others. That passion grew when I had the opportunity to assist clients with finding their place to call home.
The more I learned and became familiar with the real estate world, the more eager I became to dive deeper into all facets of real estate. In 2017, I attained my Kentucky Real Estate License and started my journey as a full-time REALTOR. Little did I know about the reality of what it would take to actually start a successful business as a REALTOR.
Years later, I have found myself with the incredible opportunity as the Principal Broker of Seven Fourteen Realty Inc. In my experience, it helps to have a Realtor who is CONNECTED! That’s why I have worked on becoming a Full-Service Real Estate Brokerage Firm, focusing on providing authentic experiences to our clients and making it our responsibility to increase wealth for minorities through real estate.
With our complex knowledge in different sectors in the real estate industry, Seven Fourteen Realty Inc. is able to offer a variety of real estate services, including; Property Management for long-term and short-term (Airbnb) rentals, Rental locating services for property owners and prospective tenants, residential sales, commercial leasing and sales as well as consulting services.
We are licensed to practice real estate in the state of Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and Florida.
I have embraced my journey in the real estate industry and am honored and excited to witness the growth of Seven Fourteen Realty Inc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In real life, roads aren’t smooth and it’s no different metaphorically. The journey is as “smooth” as driving through the city. There are potholes, there are inclines, twists and turns, others merging into your lane, cutting you off in traffic and everything else you experience when you’re traveling from one destination to another.
There’s no difference when you’re on your journey toward building and establishing your business.
I try not to view struggles in a negative manner because I believe a struggle you’ve experienced is really a learning experience and it allows you to strengthen an area of the business that may need more attention or more structure.
In Real Estate and any business, it’s very important to pace yourself and understand and adhere to your business plan. When I first obtained my license, I was beyond elated and I was so excited to be the New Agent in town scooping up all the business. Get your license and start making money, they say. Yes, it all sounds great; however, I quickly realized business isn’t just going to knock on my door. It was truly a rude awakening for me coupled with learning how expensive it is to maintain your license In addition to your general business expenses.
Looking back over the last 3-5 years, there have been many adjustments I’ve had to make to overcome struggles and that’s what we do as business owners.
However, I will admit, I do believe most of the time my biggest “struggle,” is Myself! It’s me, I am often the problem to my hindrance to me achieving more. It can be very challenging for me to manage myself.
