Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Cleverley.
Hi Autumn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, my name is Autumn and I am a micro-influencer in Cincinnati. My main focus is fashion, travel, and lifestyle. I love to support local brands and company’s specifically women owned businesses.
I started my influencing journey last year. I went through a very tough breakup and my self-esteem was on the ground and I needed to do something for myself. I am a very introverted person and I needed something to get me out of my comfort zone. I started experimenting with photography and stepping my Instagram game after taking a few online courses. It was so much fun so get dressed up feel pretty again. I bought a Canon Camera and just started shooting. I take all of my own photos with a tripod and self timer. In the beginning, I was nervous to start posting influencer type photos, but have only been met with postive comments and support.
Throughout this journey, I have learned so much. I have grown much more confident in my own skin. I have made so many new connections and friends. Learning how to shoot and edit photos has been super interesting to learn and I have really enjoyed everything.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is always hard to put yourself out there publicly for the internet to see. I was never the prettiest in my friend group, I wasn’t the one who got their drinks bought for them at bars. ( Seriously, take a look a look at my best friends) I had accepted my fate as the background character in life. I was in a funk after my breakup and needed to do something selfish. Gaining self confidence along my journey has had its ups and downs. But overall I have received great support from my friends and followers.
The biggest struggle for me is just putting yourself out on the internet for everyone to see. I was nervous to be vulnerable and so open with my life. I want to be authentic and open about my life while maintaining a professional work life, has been the biggest challenge. Trying to balance having a professional career and the stresses that come with that while still trying to have a fun exciting life on social media. This last I really learned how to make sure that my two different lives ( Professional & Fun) don’t affect each other. I shoot and prep all my content on the weekends and at night and make sure that any brand partnerships wouldn’t be a conflict with my professional career.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a local micro-influencer. I have always loved fashion, beauty and food. Cincinnati has taken my heart and I want to show others everything the city has to offer. I love showcasing local businesses, whether that is restaurants, bars, or local clothing boutiques.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being authentic and real. Remember to not take life so seriously and just have fun with everything.
