Meet Emily Carpenter of Emily Charlene Photography

oday we’d like to introduce you to Emily Carpenter.

Hi Emily, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my senior year of high school as an extracurricular and quickly fell in love with the art. I struggled with the typical things beginners do, but my dad told me time and time again to never give up. After years of education, and continued practice, I realized I could shoot for a living, and would do everything in my power to make that happen.

In the past 3 years, I have been fortunate enough to have many opportunities to capture genuine moments of couples, families, and even animals! I believe in telling stories through photography.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe with starting so young, it had a list of challenges. Between the heavy competition in the photography industry, and having to drop my pride to be able to accept constructive criticism along the way. I would say the biggest struggle for me so far has been getting over the creative slump I can fall into sometimes.

I am a Cincinnati local photographer. I believe in capturing moments as they happen, and bringing other ideas to life. I am known the most for my eye-catching photos from weddings, families, and couples. I specialize in weddings, but truly love a good family session. I am good at what I do, but I know that there is always room for growth.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I personally haven’t taken many risks within the industry I’m in but, I stand behind and support those around me that like to take risks!
