Hi Peter, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
The guy who started Nosotros only climbed 3 times before opening the gym. What does that mean for you? Anyone can be a climber.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The owner’s mom died a month after launching, we experienced negative stigma from climbers because the gym was started by a nonclimber, we’ve been forced to shut down from COVID, our windows were broken from civil unrest protests.

Nosotros Rock Climbing Gym is a good, clean, fun 501c3 nonprofit that melts your stress and gives others charity. They have two gyms with easy climbs for beginners and everybody is really nice. One gym is in Lakewood. The other is in Downtown Cleveland! Nosotros means we because people matter. People thrive on good relationships. We love how climbing is deeply relational. We love the welcoming atmosphere that our customers create – how it makes others feel like they belong. Our mission is, we use rock holds to help households. We give time, money, and service to underserved youth and communities. Nosotros has reunited a father and wayward son, provided field trips to students in poverty and families with cancer, given 100 date nights to local couples, and donated to racial equality.
