Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylah Morris.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Throughout my life, Fashion and Style have always been passions of mine. I found myself creating outfits when asked to “draw something” in school as a little girl. As I got older, I began to explore local malls and department stores for the latest fashion trends and statement pieces. Once I turned 18, I applied to Macy’s in Kenwood Towne Center Mall as a Retail Associate. As I was returning clothes from one department to another one day; I stumbled across a door that said “Personal Stylist” and something in me changed. I began asking my coworkers what the door was to, what the job was and how can I apply. After extensive research and planning, I decided to become a Freelance Stylist and work with local models and photographers. After a couple of years, I was able to land what I would call my “Dream Corporate Job” and I became the Personal Stylist at Macy’s-Oxmoor in Louisville, KY. I eventually decided to return back to Cincinnati to continue to build and develop my own business, Kaylah M. Morris Styling Services.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in life is “easy”. When I first started my journey as a Wardrobe Stylist and Personal Shopper, I felt like I was on an up-hill trajectory to success. My business was flourishing and my career was taking off. I was being handed opportunities that I wasn’t sure how to handle and my personal life was not on the same ascending path as my career. I was unsure how to balance owning a business and sustaining my personal relationships because many times they would intertwine. I had to take a step back, re-center myself and rebrand into the business I know I could run.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Kaylah M. Morris Styling Services specializes in elevating and showcasing our client’s Personal Style. We take our clients on a “Style Journey” because that is exactly what life is, a journey. Whether a client wants to revamp what they already have in their closet or wants a completely new look; we guarantee to offer a service that fits your Style Needs. Some of our services include (but are absolutely not limited to); Personal Styling Experience, Personal Shopping Experience, Closet Edit/Wardrobe Revamp and Photoshoot Styling. From in-person to virtual, we’re here to help you “Stay Stylish” because I truly do have a passion for fashion! And if you’re unable to choose just one service, we offer a Style Membership which allows you to receive multiple services throughout the year!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up (and still to this day) I was very reserved and quiet. I didn’t speak much because the ideas I had would often get misconstrued. I often times allowed my outfits and clothes to speak for me. I would dress up, wear bright colors and lots of jewelry throughout childhood. I was also very artistic growing up. I loved to draw, sing and dance. I would put on fashion and talent shows whenever I had a sleepover and made my friends and relatives participate.
