Community Highlights: Meet David Slagle Jr of OHIO Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Slagle Jr.

Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out making music , I taught myself social media , website design and various digital skills , That led to me getting an opportunity to co own a smoke shop . While I was running the shop I realized that I had been able to market my music and now this shop enough to see success in it .. I’m sure I could market and build up anything. It’s the same blue print for the most part . So I founded Over Here It’s Original LLC aka O.H.I.O. Marketing . I had lost the shop unfortunately two weeks after buying a home .. I didn’t want a normal job again .. I just happened to be watching Grant Cardone on YouTube one night and came across this series he did with Discovery channel during end of 2019 and starts of 2020 . The series was called 90 Day Millionaire .. they put Grant in a small random city with a “new name”
No connects, no shelter and $100 . His mission was to build a company and / or make a million dollars in 90 days .. In that time he managed to build a social media marketing company.. I had watched Grants for years prior and am a fan .. so I got inspired and it made me think .. I bet I could do this .. given my experience it made sense .. Not only have I built a social media marketing company but overall a digital marketing company. Social media is only one thing we offer . I consider the company to be a digital marketing partner more than a “social media managing “ company. It’s been an amazing ride these last two years , I’ve got to work with great people , notably, “Daddy Dave” Racecar driver / tv stars of the series “Street Outlaws” , The OHIO gym , IHRA , Radical Speed , Biggby Coffee .. We’ve been blessed ! It’s been a lot of sleepless nights and not knowing lol but it’s working day by day , brick by brick ..

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has not been a smooth road . I feel one of the biggest struggles is the struggle of being an entrepreneur and new to it . Fully relying on your mind and your skill alone to put food on the table can be intimidating. I’ve had times where it was looking pretty rough .. what got me through was going to the gym , staying focused on where I’m going and not fully everything happening around me .. being aware but focused on the outcome .. and I got through it ! I’ve dipped from 8k-10k months to $1200 months .. that’s not for the weak .. it takes ALOT to stay true and keep believing that it’s gonna work out .. as long as you don’t stop and you’re doing everything in your power .. it’ll work !

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being able to keep rising to new levels and getting new experiences out of life .. that’s the thrill of it all .
