Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalind Smith.
Hi Rosalind, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to helping people navigate life’s difficult moments. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they worked through trauma, grief, relationship challenges, anxiety, and major life transitions. Those experiences have been some of the greatest honors of my career.
As I listened to countless stories, I noticed a common thread. Many people believed something was wrong with them when, in reality, they had become disconnected from themselves through years of putting everyone else first, surviving difficult circumstances, or simply losing sight of who they were.
As I reflected on my own life, I realized I had experienced that same disconnection. My personal journey, combined with years of clinical experience, inspired me to create the ALIGN Method, a framework that helps women reconnect with themselves, make intentional choices, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Today, I continue my work through Rosalind Smith Counseling, where I provide therapy, and through EmpowerHER Coaching, where I help women move beyond healing into intentional growth. My passion is creating spaces where women feel safe enough to pause, reconnect with who they are, and realize they are not broken. Often, they simply need the opportunity and support to realign with the person they were created to be.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced seasons where the vision felt much bigger than the resources available to bring it to life. Building a private practice while learning the business side of entrepreneurship has required perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning.
There have also been personal seasons that challenged me deeply. Those experiences gave me a greater understanding of what it feels like to rebuild your life when things don’t go as planned. They reinforced something I now share with my clients and coaching participants: healing is not about becoming someone new; it’s about reconnecting with who you are beneath the pain and learning to move forward with intention.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth rarely follows a straight path. There have been moments of uncertainty, setbacks, and difficult decisions, but each one has strengthened my purpose. Looking back, I can see that every challenge has helped shape the therapist, coach, and business owner I am today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Rosalind Smith Counseling was founded on the belief that lasting change happens when people feel seen, understood, and empowered to move forward. I provide trauma-informed counseling for individuals, couples, and families, while my coaching practice, EmpowerHER Coaching, helps women intentionally reconnect with themselves and create meaningful change beyond the therapy room.
One of the things that sets my work apart is the ALIGN Method, a framework I developed through both my professional experience and my own personal journey. ALIGN stands for Awareness, Listen, Intentional Choices, Grace, and Nurture. Rather than focusing on what is “wrong” with someone, the framework helps women recognize where they have become disconnected from themselves and supports them in making intentional choices that align with the life they want to build.
Over the past several years, I’ve expanded that vision beyond one-on-one services by creating tools and experiences that make personal growth both practical and engaging. These include the ALIGN Wellness Assessment, the ALIGN Action Board, workshops, speaking engagements, community experiences, and retreats, all designed to help women continue growing long after a single conversation ends.
What I’m most proud of is that my brand is built on authenticity. Everything I create is rooted in real-life experience, clinical knowledge, and a genuine desire to help people heal and thrive. My hope is that anyone who encounters my work leaves believing they are not broken. Sometimes, they simply need the space, support, and tools to reconnect with themselves and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is helping people recognize their worth and realize they have the ability to move forward, regardless of what they’ve been through. I’ve seen firsthand how trauma, loss, difficult relationships, and life’s unexpected challenges can cause people to lose sight of who they are. I believe healing begins when we create space to reconnect with ourselves and start making intentional choices from that place.
My faith, my family, and the opportunity to serve others are at the heart of everything I do. They remind me to lead with compassion, extend grace, and meet people where they are without judgment.
If I can help someone leave feeling a little more hopeful, a little more confident, and more connected to who they truly are, then I’ve accomplished what matters most. That’s the legacy I hope to build, both personally and professionally.
