Today we’d like to introduce you to Racheal Foradis.
Racheal, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My trade is a cosmetologist, my love is music! It’s been 20 years since I stepped into The Ohio State school of Cosmetology. I’ve worked in salons and traveled. Hair competitions let me show my artistic side. Performances led me to step onto the stage for a different art, music. I love to make songs and get a crowd engaged! I’ve performed at festivals like Comfest and multiple venues in the city.
I guess you can say I’m an artist through and through!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid was probably the worst setback as we couldn’t service any clients for months! Figuring the next steps as I waited included safety and financial stability. I transitioned to traveling to clients homes for four years. Performing at venues during the pandemic left me feeling judged just for doing what I loved. It was almost as if my family wanted me to stop completely!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love going into the details when I’m working on a project. Whether hair or music, I will take my time and get the little things right! I always enjoyed hair competitions because the models were so fun to work with. One year I placed 2nd in a big show and every model had a dress made of hair with matching hair styles. Everyone was so proud of the work we did. Musically, I love to record and perform and it set me apart because I make quality music that can stream or be played with a live band.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Keep your eyes and ears open! Be a sponge, be humble, be kind. Empathy has been one of my greatest strengths. You can always come to me and we’ll figure things out together. No judgement necessary.
