Meet Jpaq Music of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jpaq Music.

Hi Jpaq, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello my name is Jpaq. I started music when my uncle had cancer MANY years ago. He wanted to listen to music even through what he was going through. He asked me to get my headphones, so I ran down to the car on the 1st floor to get them. Came back up to the elevator and let him have them. At the time I was interested in music & creating it, but that solidified it for me. Seeing that music is so powerful that even in your last days it could soothe you & bring joy to your life. To make you feel something. So ever since then I have wanted to be someone’s favorite artist, I want to have music that allows someone to feel something from it! So how i got to where im at today, which I would say consistently working on my craft, is believing yourself no matter what. Even when it seems you have no shot, or things aren’t moving forward. Keep putting in the work, putting yourself out there & it will all come soon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it has not been a smooth road. I am a firm believer that anything that comes easy is not meant to be, or it’s too good to be true. Meaningful things take time. My journey so far has been ups & downs. As an independent artist you go through a lot like any other human. Some of us still having jobs, and our own personal problems while still trying to balance our creative side as well. So its tough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My name is Jpaq, and I’m an independent recording artist, audio engineer, and mixing engineer. Music has become more than just a passion for me—it’s how I tell my story, connect with people, and turn real-life experiences into something meaningful.

As an artist, I create melodic hip-hop with strong influences from emo rap and R&B. My music focuses on honest storytelling, emotional vulnerability, and memorable melodies. I think thats what sets me apart from others, is the ability to be vulnerable & accept it. I write about topics like love, heartbreak, growth, mental health, and the ups and downs of everyday life, with the goal of making music that listeners can genuinely relate to.

In addition to being an artist, I work as an audio and mixing engineer. I enjoy shaping records from the ground up, making sure every vocal, instrumental, and detail contributes to the overall emotion of the song. Engineering has given me a deeper understanding of music and allows me to maintain creative control over my sound while helping bring my artistic vision to life.

As an independent artist, I’ve learned to wear many hats throughout the creative process, from songwriting and recording to mixing, branding, and content creation. That journey has taught me the value of consistency, patience, and always striving to improve my craft.

My goal is to continue creating music that resonates with people on a personal level while growing both as an artist and as an engineer. I want my work to leave a lasting impact and remind listeners that they aren’t alone in what they’re feeling.

I am also most proud of anything I do creative, any Song I make, mix or anything I do to move forward in this industry I am proud of. You have to pat yourself on the back even for the small wins!

Any big plans?
Mostly what I look forward to in the future is to see what consistency brings me. To see where my music can take me. Im not planning for much big changes just living in the moment. The day will come when it does, when its my time ill know. For now my plans are in the present, to work on the present day ME so the future me has a better chance.
