Gloria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always loved creating beautiful spaces and making people feel special. While my professional career has been in nursing for over 15 years, event design has always been a passion of mine. I found so much joy in helping family and friends celebrate life’s biggest milestones that I decided to turn that passion into Emerald Event Decor.
Over the years, what started as a passion has grown into a business that has allowed me to help couples and families celebrate weddings, baby showers, corporate events, and many other special occasions. I built Emerald Event Decor in the Nashville area, where I had the opportunity to work with amazing clients and talented vendors who became an important part of my journey.
Recently, life brought my family to Cincinnati, and I’m excited to continue serving clients throughout both Ohio and Tennessee while building new relationships in this wonderful community.
As Emerald Event Decor has grown, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside so many couples throughout their wedding journey. Those experiences inspired us to begin developing United Vows, a wedding planning platform designed to help couples connect with trusted vendors and simplify the planning process. To me, it’s a natural extension of what we’ve been doing all along—helping couples enjoy one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve learned that building a business takes patience, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning. Balancing a career, family, and growing a business hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Relocating from Nashville to Cincinnati was one of the biggest changes. While it meant starting over in a new market, it also created exciting opportunities to meet new couples and expand Emerald Event Decor into Ohio while continuing to serve the Nashville community that supported us from the beginning.
I’ve learned that every challenge brings an opportunity to grow, and that mindset continues to guide both my business and my life.

Emerald Event Decor specializes in creating elegant, personalized décor for weddings and special events. From ceremony décor and floral installations to luxury backdrops, ceiling draping, and reception styling, my goal is to bring each client’s vision to life while creating an unforgettable experience.
I believe every celebration is unique, so I take the time to understand each client’s style, personality, and story before designing their event.
Our experience serving couples has also inspired us to expand beyond décor through United Vows, which is being developed to help couples discover trusted wedding professionals and enjoy a simpler planning experience. Together, both reflect the same mission: helping people celebrate life’s most meaningful moments with confidence and joy.

I’m incredibly grateful to every client, vendor, family member, and friend who has supported Emerald Event Decor over the years. Nashville will always be a special part of my story, and I’m excited to continue that journey while becoming part of the Cincinnati community.
