Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Diorr.

Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It’s funny because I thought I was gone be a nail tech first I use to do nails in high school I stopped doing it because my back started hurting then I started doing me and an old friend of mine hair in high school. She use to run track and she would run into people and they would stop her and ask her about her hair and who does it. So people started reaching out to me to get appointments, lol I wasn’t charging much because I was just playing around. Overtime I got better started learning different styles that Cincinnati didn’t know about from other cities and started making a name for myself. I was originally known for locs tho I barely braided lol now I braided A LOT. After that clientele grew , prices grew and I started offering classes and started selling my own products such lip gloss kits , hair growth oil ,
Turmeric soap, human boho hair , cluster lashes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I honestly don’t think I ever hit a rough patch people the clientele was always there. I would tend to go through those little slow moments all hairdressers go through at some point. It was times where I was wanted to stop doing hair because I was overwhelmed and occasionally I would just to take a little break I really work sun up to sun down almost everyday. I be forgetting to take time to myself and sometimes people can take the joy of your job.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in faux locs and braids. I am known for my hand wrapped human hair faux locs (hippie locs) I am also known for my bohemian knotless bob and knotless braids for how full and fluffy they are. I do makeup and I am alway a cluster tech. What set me apart from other braids is the quality of my work , the consistency, the fullness they are looking for in braids and the great boho hair I use and I’m not heavy handed lol. My most proud brand is my virgin bundles I use on my braids even if people aren’t coming to me for styles they come to me for my boho hair and I sale every time I get a shipment. I am just a girl that loves making other women feel beautiful. I am such a girls girl and I love offering my services even free ones just because. I feel like I can do all in the beauty industry.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that my city supports me to the fullest. What I least like is everybody feels like they in competition with the next stylist, nobody wants to help the next hairstyle grow in their career. They feel if they help the next person the next gone be taking money out they pockets. It’s money for everyone to eat and grow.
