Daily Inspiration: Meet Tim Anderson Jr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Anderson Jr.

Hi Tim , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After being incarcerated for a shooting in 2014 related to drugs, I came home from prison with the intention of helping the youth in the inner city to steer clear of the penitentiary and worse, the cemetery.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning there were not a lot of opportunities for funding to aid our efforts in the community, so we had to do a lot of the work out of pocket. Until 2021 when we were awarded ARPA funds from the city of Akron Mayor’s Office.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Although i am the Founder and CEO of the Fallen Fathers Foundation many people don’t know i have a strong passion for understanding mental health and trauma due to the childhood experiences I had on my own. So in 2022 i became a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist and currently am working as a private contractor for A Better U Behavioral Health Services.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’ve always believed in the phrase no risk no reward. So when i decided in 2018 to quit my factory job and focus on my organization full time, it was a huge risk but i put all my eggs in Gods basket and bet on myself! And that leap of faith has lead to my organization being one of the most impactful organizations in the city.
