Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Myers.
Hi Olivia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, and always knew I wanted a career where I could advocate for others. After earning my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, I returned home to attend the University of Akron School of Law. Throughout law school, I gained hands-on experience in criminal defense, from working with the Portage County Public Defender’s Office to volunteering in legal clinics and serving as a certified legal intern.
In 2019, I took a leap of faith and opened O. Myers Law with the goal of providing clients with the personalized representation and communication they deserve. Building a law firm from the ground up wasn’t easy, but every challenge reinforced my commitment to serving my clients with compassion, preparation, and determination.
Today, my practice focuses on criminal defense, OVI/DUI defense, and family law throughout Northeast Ohio. To better represent clients charged with OVI offenses, I completed the same National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) training in DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing that law enforcement officers receive, allowing me to critically evaluate roadside investigations and protect my clients’ rights.
Outside of practicing law, I’m also a wife and mother, and balancing family life with entrepreneurship has shaped the attorney and business owner I am today. As my firm continues to grow, my mission remains the same: to provide exceptional legal representation while treating every client with honesty, respect, and the individualized attention they deserve.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Like many entrepreneurs, I started my firm from the ground up with no established client base and had to earn every opportunity through hard work, long hours, and perseverance. There were plenty of challenges, from building a reputation in a competitive legal market to managing the many responsibilities that come with owning and operating a business.
More recently, I’ve also learned to balance running a growing law practice with being a wife and mother. That has required me to become even more intentional with my time and priorities. While the journey hasn’t always been easy, every obstacle has made me a stronger attorney, business owner, and leader. Looking back, those challenges have shaped both my practice and my commitment to providing clients with the level of dedication and personal attention they deserve.
As you know, we’re big fans of O. Myers Law LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
O. Myers Law is a client-centered law firm serving individuals and families throughout Northeast Ohio. My practice focuses on criminal defense, OVI/DUI defense, and family law, representing clients through some of the most difficult and stressful moments of their lives. Whether someone is facing criminal charges, an OVI, a divorce, or a custody dispute, my goal is to provide experienced legal representation while ensuring every client feels heard, informed, and supported throughout the process.
One of the things that sets my firm apart is the level of preparation I bring to every case. In addition to years of courtroom experience, I completed the same National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) training in DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing that law enforcement officers receive. That training gives me valuable insight into how OVI investigations should be conducted and allows me to effectively challenge cases when procedures are not properly followed.
I also believe communication is just as important as legal knowledge. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about what lies ahead. I make it a priority to be accessible, responsive, and transparent, taking the time to explain the legal process and answer questions so my clients feel confident every step of the way.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation my firm has built for treating clients with compassion while providing aggressive, results-driven advocacy. At O. Myers Law, clients are never treated like just another case file. They receive personalized attention, honest advice, and a dedicated advocate who is committed to protecting their rights and helping them move forward.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t built overnight—it comes from consistency, resilience, and a genuine commitment to serving others. Building a law firm has taught me that your reputation is your greatest asset. Every client interaction, every case, and every decision contributes to the trust you’ve built within your community.
I’ve also learned that asking for help and building a strong support system is not a weakness but a strength. As both a business owner and a mother, I’ve realized you can’t do everything alone. Surrounding yourself with people you trust allows you to better serve your clients, your family, and your community.
Above all, I’ve learned to stay true to my values. If you lead with integrity, work hard, and always put your clients first, success will follow.
