Community Highlights: Meet Nadina Iadimarco of Jump Start Preschool LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadina Iadimarco.

Hi Nadina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have worked with children since the age of 12. It is truly not only a passion, but a calling. One day, I was with a friend, leading our daughters’ Girl Scout troop. I casually told her my dream was to own a preschool. Fast forward a couple years and she saw one for sale in our area and Facebook messaged me about it. I moved quickly to go see it, purchase it, remodel , license, advertise and enroll 20 children. We had to do this in a span of 3 months. My oldest daughter had just graduated high school and wanted to work with me, so we opened our doors that fall as co-teachers. Word spread fast, and before we knew it, we were enrolling our maximum 4 classes and 75 children for the next school year. During that year, our local school district caught eye of us and asked if I would open a second location inside of my kids local school. We hustled again and got a new room set up, licensed, hired teachers and enrolled a total of 150 kids in 8 classes over two locations. Fast forward 7 years and we have had our challenges with COVID and staffing as we worked tirelessly to be sure the reputation, values and curriculum were always protected. Today, we continue with a staff of 6 amazing teachers, two locations. and hundreds of families who trust in us to love, teach and prepare their precious littles for kindergarten. Every child is cared for by name and need. Every child holds a special place in my heart. When we hit the stage each May and graduate 70-80 pre-k students, I beam with pride. This dream made reality of owning a preschool is greater than I ever imagined.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our greatest struggle was being asked to open a second location when we were only in business for a year. We didn’t feel ready, but the opportunity was too great to refuse. That first year was COVID year, which presented its own set of challenges. We stood together and made tough decisions with the safety and well being of our students and families as our priority. We gained the respect and trust of our parents in a world where it was impossible to please everyone.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jump Start Preschool LLC ?
We offer part time preschool and pre-k classes to children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years old. We are the very first step towards independence for our children. They come to us as shy toddlers and leave confident, socially, emotionally and academically advancing individuals. Our bond with our kids and families runs deep. We have a great respect and pride in partnering with some of the greatest families in Geauga County. Many have become close friends who we love dearly.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Children are truly a gift. Each child is unique and each child has qualities that make them shine. We love to uncover that shine and help them step into their elementary years with a love of school and learning, a trust for teachers and administrators and an excitement to form friendships. Our part time classes allow the children to progress slowly. To have their time in school, yet be a kid and learn through hands on, play and activities.

Pricing:

• Preschool classes are $185 per month for 4 hours per week
• Pre-k classes are $230 per month for 7 hours per week
