Exploring Life & Business with Christie Davis of Natural Pretty Hair, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Davis.

Hi Christie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began with a deeply personal realization: beauty shouldn’t require us to compromise on our health or peace of mind. For years, I watched the beauty industry flood shelves with products packed with complex chemical synthetic ingredients, leaving consumers trying to decode labels just to find something safe for their skin and hair. I knew there had to be a better way—one that married the raw, nurturing power of nature with the uncompromising quality we deserve.

With that vision in mind, I dove headfirst into the world of clean beauty formulation. I wanted to move past the filler ingredients and focus entirely on rich, clean botanical powerhouses like mango butter, shea butter, and aloe vera. What started as passionate research and hands-on formulation quickly grew into something much bigger. It took patience, refining, and dedication—but I was determined to build this brand with the absence of shortcuts.

Earlier this year, we expanded our product line to reflect a broader, definitive lifestyle brand under the name Natural Pretty Hair. Today, we are taking our message straight to the community through local pop-up shops, a growing digital presence, and an unwavering commitment to our core philosophy: ‘Clean Beauty, Pure Confidence!’ Getting to where we are today required a lot of grit and a refusal to settle, but seeing our community embrace their natural beauty with absolute confidence makes every single step of the journey worth it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I don’t think any meaningful entrepreneurial journey ever is. Building a brand from scratch requires wearing a dozen different hats, and every stage comes with its own unique set of hurdles.

One hurdle was formulation and supply. When your brand philosophy is ‘Clean Beauty, Pure Confidence!’, you don’t take shortcuts. Sourcing premium, uncompromised botanical ingredients like mango and shea butters, and ensuring formulations are consistently flawless without relying on cheap synthetic fillers, is incredibly challenging. There was a lot of trial, error, and meticulous testing behind the scenes to get the products to meet my standards.

Finally, scaling and evolving the business brings its own learning curve. Transitioning from our original focus to a broader, definitive identity meant managing everything from trademark legalities to logistics for our live pop-up shops and digital growth.

It’s been a road paved with long hours and steep learning curves, but every single struggle has just forced me to refine the brand and make it stronger. The bumps in the road are exactly what taught me how to build a business that lasts.

We’ve been impressed with Natural Pretty Hair, LLC , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Inside Natural Pretty Hair

At its core, Natural Pretty Hair is a clean beauty and wellness brand dedicated to helping people embrace their authentic selves. Our guiding philosophy is simple: ‘Clean Beauty, Pure Confidence!’ We believe that what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it, and our mission is to eliminate the guesswork and stress from the modern beauty routine.

Our Specialties & What We Are Known For

We specialize in high-quality skincare and haircare formulations crafted from rich, clean botanical ingredients. Instead of relying on cheap synthetic fillers or harsh chemicals that strip away natural moisture, we put the focus entirely on nature’s powerhouses. We are becoming known for our deep dedication to ingredients like mango butter, shea butter, and aloe vera—moisture-rich ingredients that actively nourish, protect, and heal. Every product we design is formulated to celebrate and enhance your natural textures and tones, rather than mask them.

What Sets Us Apart

What truly sets Natural Pretty Hair apart is our refusal to take shortcuts, combined with our holistic view of beauty. We aren’t just selling products; we are cultivating a community. Beyond our skincare and haircare lines, we consciously expand into lifestyle offerings—like curated digital products and creative tools—that promote mindfulness, self-care, and relaxation. We bridge the gap between physical beauty products and the mental space needed to truly feel confident in your own skin.

What I Am Most Proud Of

Brand-wise, I am incredibly proud of our integrity and resilience. It took years of patience, intentional formulation, and playing the long game to bring this exact vision to life. Watching the brand evolve into a definitive lifestyle movement has been profoundly rewarding. But nothing compares to the pride I feel when a customer uses our products and tells me they finally feel radiant and comfortable just as they are.

What I Want Readers to Know

I want your readers to know that Natural Pretty Hair is a brand built on trust. Whether you are browsing our online store or visiting us face-to-face at one of our local community pop-up shops, you are getting uncompromised quality.

We invite you to experience our botanical formulations and join a movement that prioritizes your health, your peace of mind, and your natural radiance.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When it comes to networking and finding a mentor, my biggest piece of advice is to shift your mindset from ‘transactional’ to ‘relational.’ Early on, it’s easy to view networking as just handing out business cards or looking for people who can do something for you. But the most impactful connections happen when you focus on building genuine, authentic relationships.
Here is what has worked incredibly well for me:

• Get Out into Your Local Community: There is irreplaceable value in showing up physically where your community is. For me, launching local pop-up shops wasn’t just a retail strategy—it became a massive networking engine. It allowed me to connect face-to-face with other local entrepreneurs, organizers, and creators. You build a completely different level of trust when people can see your passion in person.

• Put Yourself in Competitive Spaces: Don’t shy away from local business grants, pitch competitions, or accelerator programs. Putting your brand out there into local business circuits forces you into rooms with seasoned professionals, judges, and high-level mentors who are actively looking to invest their time and expertise into promising entrepreneurs. Even if you are just applying, the visibility alone can open unexpected doors.

• Look for Mentors Who Align with Your Values, Not Just Your Industry: When seeking a mentor, don’t just look for the person with the biggest title. Look for someone whose business ethics, resilience, and personal values match your own. A great mentor isn’t there to give you a step-by-step roadmap; they are there to challenge your thinking and help you navigate the emotional highs and lows of entrepreneurship.
If you are just starting out, don’t be afraid to make the first move. Reach out to someone you admire, acknowledge a specific piece of their work that resonated with you, and ask for a brief conversation. People are surprisingly willing to help when they see genuine drive, passion, and a respect for their time.
