Hi Will, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started in 2020 during the pandemic. At the time, I was working in an internship focused on building programs and bringing people together to create meaningful connections across communities in the Greater Cleveland area.

When the pandemic hit, everything changed. The world shut down, and I was laid off. But that experience opened my eyes to how important connection and community really are, especially during difficult times.

From there, I started exploring how communities could exist and thrive online. I became really interested in how digital spaces could bring people together in a more intentional way, not just for conversation, but for real growth and support.

That curiosity led me to start Liaison Community Management. I began by helping individuals and organizations think through how to build and structure their communities, then moved into actually building, launching, and managing them.

Today, Liaison focuses on helping founders, creators, and organizations build strong, intentional online communities that drive real connection and long-term engagement.

I’ve seen firsthand what community can do when people come together in person, the relationships it builds, the support it creates, and the impact it can have on people’s lives. That’s what pushed me to explore how that same level of connection could exist online. I do this work because I believe online communities, when done right, can create that same sense of belonging and growth at scale.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been helping people truly understand the value of a dedicated online community.

A lot of people initially see it as just another forum or another form of social media. Because of that, they underestimate what it can actually do. A well-built community is not just about posting content or having conversations, it’s about creating a space where people can connect, learn, and grow together in a more intentional way.

Another challenge has been shifting that mindset from short-term engagement to long-term community building. Strong communities take structure, strategy, and consistency, and that’s not always obvious at first.

But over time, as clients start to see deeper engagement, stronger relationships, and real impact, it starts to click. Those moments have made the challenges worth it.

What sets me apart is how hands-on and structured my approach is. I don’t just give advice, I actually help build the community alongside my clients and create systems they can use long after the project ends. Everything is designed to be practical, repeatable, and easy to manage.

What I’m most proud of is the level of thought and care that goes into each community. Every space is built with intention, not just to look good, but to actually support real connection and growth for the people inside it.
