Daily Inspiration: Meet Mandy Roma

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Roma.

Hi Mandy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started in the hair industry 25 years ago and loved everything about it and still do. I have always loved the connection with my clients. I love how I get to make them feel, the intimate conversations we get to have, the Trust they have in me and I have in them. They become family.

As I navigated my hair career throughout the years, I wanted to dive deeper into my spiritual practice. I decided to take on Yoga teacher training and complete that, along with becoming a Reiki Master, I also completed Color Light therapy certification, Crystal Practitioner certification. I was beginning to love the whole idea of the holistic side of things, and I knew my life was changing.

A couple years ago when I found the head spa service, I knew I wanted to merge my businesses. I knew that I could open a head spa business and incorporate Healing Modell’s to it. I couldn’t stop thinking about this and how amazing this would be for clients. To offer something like this to clients that they could relax while receiving a head spa all while receiving Reiki, color light therapy,, Sound therapy was a dream. I really believed people needed this in their life. We don’t relax like we should and we need at least an hour a day to find peace, clarity, and just to be! So I did just that. I opened Head Space Spa.
I continued to have a suite where I primarily color hair a couple days a week, and I opened a little spa suite called Head Space Space and it took off. The peace in that little spa space was unreal. There is something so magical about it I can’t even explain it. It’s peaceful, it’s safe, it brings clarity to you when you walk in the space and that’s exactly what I wanted it do for my clients.

I’m currently working on re-vamping/ rebranding my suites. I will be doing color services only 2 days a week and the rest of the week Head Spa.
We will also have apparel, products, oils, crystals and lotions for purchase.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been tough. I went through 2 head spa units before I found my last unit that has really worked well for me. When we started building my little spa I was recovering from surgery so with the help of my 3 kids a good friend, my moms support, and my dads brain to pick from none of it would have been possible. I have these people to thank big time. I truly feel blessed.
It was a lot of crying, researching, and trial and error. We got it done and I love everything about it. That little spa space is worth it. The energy in this little spa is unreal.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

What sets my Head Spa apart is I am a holistic healer. So I incorporate both the beauty industry and the holistic side of things into all my treatments. I have singing bowls in my room, there are crystals all over my room. I use products from a local herbalist who is amazing. Alyssa see’s my vision. I know exactly what’s in my product. There is salt bags laid on you for healing. Thanks to my mom, she has been a big help for this project. It’s the whole experience!

I believe we all need healing and if I can help even if it’s just a little or a lot to everyone that walks in my door, then I have done what I am suppose to be doing. God gave me this gift so I intend to use it to Help & Heal People.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is swimming & riding bikes all the time at my granny’s. She was the best.
