Rising Stars: Meet Cory Hall of Chillicothe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Hall.

Cory, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Started as a vehicle for side freelance work and to share my creative passion projects. Over time, those passions turned into meeting client needs and has slowly evolved into the an extension of me – all the things that I am into. All while allowing me to help out organizations like churches, schools, and more in my local community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road. I think anyone who is a creative will attest to sharing creativity comes with a cost. I have loved the community that has been built through it though. I never want to be in competition, I want to learn from others and share tips and tricks that we’ve all learned along the way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My tagline is “photo. video. creative. tech.” While that is broad, it also encompasses everything that I am into. I think I have become best known for my sports photography and videography. The funny thing is my “profession” and background is actually an audio engineer. Just recently, I started adding in more audio-visual services into what I am able to do for the local community.

I think what sets me apart is the fact that I’ve moved away, experienced the world, and worked on some incredibly complex mission critical systems. I am able to take that same standard of excellence into small town USA type projects as well as my creative endeavors. Something I pride myself on in my business is “excellence, reliability, and collaboration.” I want that to be the same great experience for everyone I work with. While that isn’t always the case for everyone and they may think they have a better way, I say let them. I’ve walked the walk and talked the talk for many years now. I’m not just offering suggestions, I’m providing solutions based on real world experience and expertise. Not everyone is going to be on board with that, and that’s ok. But for the ones that are, they know they’re getting a truly unique experience when we get to work together – solely based on my background and past experiences.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
The background that I have mentioned is living in Nashville, Tennessee and being a touring audio engineer and guitar tech in the Country Music world. Through that, I saw 49 states, and almost 20 countries. It was an experience that I will never forget and helped to make me who I am today. It helped define my standard of excellence in every aspect of my work.

I was once a kid from a small town with a crazy dream. While luck was certainly involved and being in the right place at the right time on numerous occasions, I also worked like crazy to make those dreams come true. If I was to offer some encouragement to that kid version of me, it would be to fight even harder for those crazy dreams. Block out the noise sooner. Lock in on what needs accomplished, all while keeping an open mind to every new opportunity or relationship that comes up.
