Tanisha Taylor of Twinsburg on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tanisha Taylor. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Tanisha, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
My personal energy is important because it’s the “fuel source” behind everything I’m building—leadership, consistency, and impact.

Here’s why it matters (especially for me and my work):

Energy drives execution. I can have the best ideas and plans, but if my energy is low, the follow-through gets harder—marketing, enrollment, systems, content, meetings… all of it.
Energy becomes my program’s atmosphere. As a coach and community leader, people don’t just hear your message—they feel your presence. High, steady energy creates safety, hope, and momentum for youth and young adults.
Energy protects your consistency. Consistency builds trust with parents, students, and your community. When my energy is managed, I can show up even when life is loud.
Energy affects decision-making. Low energy often creates “short-term choices” (avoidance, procrastination, reacting). Strong energy supports clear thinking and confident leadership.
Energy is connected to enrollment. Enrollment requires visibility + follow-up + belief. If my energy is drained, it’s harder to stay publicly consistent and emotionally resilient in the sales/marketing process.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Tanisha Taylor—coach, community builder, and the “welcome to adulthood” big sister you didn’t know you needed.

I lead Tanisha Taylor Coaching, where I help youth and young adults (especially ages 18–25) transition into adulthood with confidence—without the overwhelm, confusion, or pressure to “have it all figured out.” My brand is built around real-life coaching in four core areas: Faith, Fitness, Family, and Finance—because adulthood doesn’t just need motivation, it needs a plan.

What makes my work special is the mix: it’s practical + powerful, structured but not stiff, and always delivered with joy, honesty, and a little laughter. I create spaces—virtual and in-person—where youth and young adults can grow skills, build mindset, and make better decisions step-by-step… while parents get peace of mind knowing their young adult isn’t trying to figure life out alone.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
It’s silence when something needs to be said, pride that won’t soften, and pain that never got named. It’s misunderstanding with no conversation, expectations with no clarity, and offense that turns into distance. It’s when we stop believing the best about each other and start keeping score. Bonds break when love is not there… when trust gets bruised and nobody knows how to repair it.

What restores bonds is still simple, but it’s not always easy.

It’s humility. It’s somebody being brave enough to say, “I was wrong,” or “That hurt me,” without throwing a grenade. It’s truth with tenderness—not blaming, not performing, just being real. It’s listening to understand, not listening to win. It’s forgiveness that doesn’t erase the lesson but releases the control the hurt has had.

And let me say this in my way:

Love is not just a feeling—love is repair.

Real relationships don’t stay strong because they never crack. They stay strong because when they crack, somebody shows up with patience, accountability, and grace… and says, “We’re worth fixing.”

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are not behind—you’re being built.

Stop measuring your life by other people’s highlight reels and silent expectations. What feels like a delay is really God doing detail work. You don’t have to earn love by over-performing, over-helping, or over-explaining. You’re allowed to rest, breathe, and still be chosen.

Keep your heart soft, keep your standards strong, and don’t you dare shrink to fit what people can handle. The right doors will open for the real you—not the version of you that’s exhausted trying to prove you’re enough.

You are enough. And you’re going to make it—with joy still in your spirit.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?

I protect the value of honor at all costs—the kind of honor that covers people while still calling them higher.

In a world that celebrates disrespect and makes being loud feel like being right, I’m committed to respect, responsibility, and restoration. I protect how we treat elders, how we speak to each other, how we show up for family, and how we guide young people with wisdom—not sarcasm, not shame.

I’m guarding a culture where faith matters, integrity matters, and community mean something—where we don’t just “cut people off,” we learn how to communicate, heal, and rebuild. Because the goal isn’t just success… it’s strong relationships, strong character, and strong futures.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What light inside you have you been dimming?
I’ve been dimming the very light that makes me unstoppable —my bold voice, my joy, my confidence in what I’m called to do, my creativity, and my boundaries. Not because I’m unsure… but because I’ve been trying to stay “palatable” for people who aren’t ready for the full version of me. And every time I over give or overexplain, I turn my own light down to keep everybody else comfortable.

My confidence my calling — I know I’m built to lead, but sometimes you soften it, so it doesn’t intimidate folks who aren’t ready.

My creativity — the ideas, the new lanes, the “let’s build it different” vision… been I’ve been editing myself before I even e start.

My boundaries — because every time I over give, I turn my own light down to keep everybody else lit.

But that light isn’t arrogance—it’s assignment. I don’t need to dim it. I just need to aim it.
