Good morning Diamond , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
Definitely mental health! I feel like a lot of people deal with mental health problems but never say anything because they’re afraid of judgment but as someone who deals with mental health, let me tell you that it is Nothing to be ashamed of we are human after all just please know you’re enough.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Diamond Slaughter a.k.a. JINK XO! I am a model, a singer-songwriter, and a digital artist. For modeling I really love to promote plus-size fashion, knowing that no matter what size you are, everyone deserves to have beautiful outfits I love to write music. I write POV music so the point of view can be from any person in the world, even if it’s not from my point of view And I absolutely love to draw something about drawing just makes it so peaceful I am also from Cleveland, Ohio born and raised. I have four older brothers. I am the youngest out of all four of them and the only girl I was raised by my beautiful, beautiful mother and awesome stepfather. I can’t wait to show you all when I am working on in 2026. I have Music coming. I have more photo shoots coming and I can’t wait to show it.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother, saw what I could do before I even knew what I could accomplish I was always an insecure little girl who did not know what her worth was and I always had my mom right next to me to tell me how much I meant in this world and she will always tell me “our blessing is coming and you’re gonna make it in this world”. When I did my first photo shoot, it was like she saw the star in me I had so much confidence, but I didn’t see it myself and now when I look back at these photo shoots, I’d be like Oh OK. I see what she’s talking about now it’s such a blessing.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would honestly tell her so much one thing for sure is that you are beautiful. A lot of people are going to make it seem like you’re not because you’re dark-skinned and because you’re plus-size but you are beautiful and you got this there’s gonna be trials and tribulations in your life and it’s gonna be times where you’re gonna want to hurt yourself And I’m sorry if I ever said anything mean about you and I definitely don’t mean it anymore and that we make it baby.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Well, I like to think so I know in my photos I portray a very confident and honestly kind of bitchy looking face, but I promise I am not a bitch haha I just have a resting bitch face, but even though I portray as confident I can still be very timid and shy but I still have confidence either way in my daily life JINK XO and Diamond are basically alike but yet different.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want people to tell the story of how I did it being bullied suffering from depression and anxiety, and being overweight. I want everybody to know that I did it and that you can do it. I know that’s kind of a corny speech, but I promise you you can really do it if you try hard enough if you put that time and effort in, and knowing that you are enough every single time.
