Today we’d like to introduce you to Traci Stivers.

Hi Traci, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was raised in a blue-collar family where entrepreneurship and college weren’t really the expected path, so I learned early on the value of hard work, showing up, and figuring things out as I went. My career didn’t follow a straight line. I worked a variety of jobs, learned through experience, and eventually completed my college degree as an adult while working full-time and raising my family.

Along the way, I discovered a knack and a passion for communication, branding, and helping organizations tell their stories in a way that actually connects with people. That led me to start Stivers Media Design & Consulting, where I now work with nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations to strengthen their messaging and build meaningful engagement.

Today, I balance owning a marketing firm with deep involvement in my community, working closely with nonprofits, small businesses, and local leaders. Every step of the journey—especially the challenges—has shaped how I lead, how I work, and how I serve others, and it continues to fuel my passion for helping organizations communicate with clarity, purpose, and authenticity.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all — my road has had twists, heartbreaks, and seasons of real struggle. But I can honestly say that every challenge has strengthened me because my faith grounded me through all of it. I may not have realized it in that moment, but I can see it now.  Losing a child, walking through a difficult marriage, rebuilding my life as a single mom, and starting over professionally were incredibly hard seasons.

But God used each one to refine me, redirect me, and prepare me for the work I’m doing today. I truly believe nothing I’ve experienced has been wasted. My business exists because of God’s grace and the doors He opened — often in ways I didn’t expect. So although the road hasn’t been smooth, it’s been purposeful. And I’m grateful for where it’s led.

Stivers Media is a high-impact marketing and communications firm that helps nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations show up with clarity, confidence, and purpose. I specialize in digital strategy, branding, website design, and social media management — but what truly defines my work is the level of ownership I bring to every project.

I’m very active in my community, volunteering for Adopt-A-Class, Operation Christmas Child, LifeWise Academy, in various chambers, and of course in my church and so I’m known for being the person organizations call when they need someone who understands both community and business at a deep level.

And while I run my company with boldness and an entrepreneurial mindset, my foundation is still my faith. 

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m a big believer in systems and routines, so I lean on a mix of practical tools and faith-based grounding.

From a work standpoint, tools like Canva and other digital platforms help me stay organized and creative. But if I’m being honest, I live and breathe by my Google Calendar—it’s color-coded, scheduled down to the minute, and if something isn’t on there, it simply doesn’t exist in my brain!

Outside of work, my faith is the foundation that helps me do my best in every area of life. I try to spend time in scripture every day and I love a good bible study. Staying rooted in purpose—while keeping life organized—has been key to maintaining balance both professionally and personally.
