Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Seibert.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My insurance career started in 2012 when I was 19 years old as a registered financial representative for Western and Southern Life here in Springfield. I took on a management role with them in 2015, and ultimately made the switch to Shelter Insurance in 2017. I started my career with Shelter Insurance on the management side. I spent my first three years recruiting and developing new agents as they opened their insurance agencies here in Ohio, as well as Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. In 2020 during the pandemic, I decided it would be best for myself and my family to move back to Springfield permanently, and open my own Shelter Insurance agency. I have spent the last 5+ years growing my agency to one of the largest Shelter agencies here in Ohio providing home, auto, and life insurance solutions for as many families as we can. I have been named a Conference of Champions qualifier, and a five time district agent of the year. I have also been voted as a Best In Springfield finalist for the top insurance agency in the city the last two years.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building this insurance agency from the ground up hasn’t exactly been easy, but I have been lucky enough to receive the support of people all around me to get me where I am now. The first 12 months of us being back in Springfield was spent living with my in-laws so that we could dedicate more time and money into the growth of the insurance agency. My friends and family were all very supportive and most of them became clients fairly quickly. They did an amazing job of referring me to others while I spent time in our community marketing my services. To this day I credit so much of our success to my clients graciously referring me to their own friends and family. I do my best to take care of those that choose to do business with me, and they seem to return the favor as much as they can with their referrals.
We’ve been impressed with Seibert Insurance Agency LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Seibert Insurance Agency specializes in personal lines insurance coverage for families in and around Springfield, Ohio. We offer home, auto, life, rental property, renters, and other insurance products. We are licensed in Ohio as well as Indiana and Kentucky. In my opinion there are two things that set us apart from other insurance agencies both locally and nationally. One, the main company we represent is Shelter Insurance. Shelter consistently receives awards for their customer service and satisfaction, most notable by Forbes and JDPower. While I was in management with them, I was able to see how they treated their customers, which made it an easy decision to start my own agency as a representative for them. The other key difference between us and other insurance agencies is me. I care so much for every single person that decides to do business with us; I treat them the way I would family. Everyone has access to my cell phone number, and they can reach me anytime day or evening, weekend or holiday. Whenever they have questions or concerns they know I am a phone call or text message away.
How do you define success?
I have a family that believes Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. I have a business that provides me enough income to live comfortably. I am able to sponsor and coach my son’s baseball teams. My wife works in the agency with me. That feels like success to me. I can’t define success for anyone else because success is very different from person to person.
