Hi Neica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began with a profound, lifelong connection to the visual world; the pull to create has been a driving force since childhood. I quickly learned that my own creativity thrives best in an organized and visually stimulating environment, a principle that has guided my entire career.
After completing an interior design program, I launched my professional journey under the mentorship of David Robinson at The Furniture House in Newark, OH. There, within a showroom offering high-end furniture and a full design studio, I was able to immerse myself in creating custom spaces for clients. Following Mr. Robinson’s retirement in 1998, I founded Neica Raker Interiors, Ltd.
Today, my passion and mission remain the same: to assist others in transforming their surroundings into spaces that inspire peace, reflect their uniqueness, and instill a sense of pride.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It certainly hasn’t been without its challenges, as is true for any achievement worth pursuing. As a sole proprietor, my role encompasses both the creative work and the comprehensive management of every business detail.
For many years, while raising two wonderful children as a single mother, I also took on extra work to ensure financial stability. Now, I have the fortunate position of dedicating my focus entirely to my design and artwork.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an interior designer and artist, specializing in creating custom, organized, and visually stimulating residential and light commercial spaces.
I am also known for my personalized use of color in designs and my expertise in paint color selections.
My approach is centered on transforming my clients’ surroundings into environments that foster peace, genuinely reflect their individual uniqueness, and instill a strong sense of pride.
I am most proud of successfully building a practice where clients become friends and return for continued work together, a relationship fostered by trust that spans decades.
